ok, it seems like everytime i go to the local skatepark i always find myself ending up riding the halfpipe for most of the time. I am not very good at it. I jus sorta pump up the ramp as close to the coping as i can. (its friggin scary as hell). I have decided that vert is what i want to set out and ride, since my trails have been gone, i figure why not give it a try. Does anyone have any tips for a new person riding vert? I think most of it is jus having the guts to do it, but there has got to be something i can do to not fall to flat everytime i try to air. Any tips? Any good tricks to start to learn? YEah, I'm guessing it just about haveing really really good air, when you go up, come down as very close as you can to the coping without actually clipping it... that shit is too scary for me. Try moving your bars forward a lil and see whaat that does, I see vert riders with bars liek that, so that probably means theres a reason for them having bars like that, find out and tell us. I am going to stay relatively quiet.

work on pulling back on your bars, a bit, then it may get you to air... it may also help to do it both ways...

I don't understand how you can land flat. The only time I rode I vert ramp was a couple of weeks ago and I never landed flat. But then again I got just below the coping but never above it so maybe that's why.

Ride the whole transition, don't pull out, keep an eye on the coping. If you can ride vert, everything else will be easier. There's no excuse for being a dickhead.

Vert is hard. I always pull off the wall too hard and end up in the flat, but its a lot of fun just carving around. I like to do that first thing at the park, that way everything else seems small. I wish that the X-Park here in town had a 8-9 foot vert ramp...would be fun. -A noble spirit embiggens the smallest man. -Jebediah Springfield

start on a mini pipe, something that is about 5ft. just go balls out on that since the tranny is mild and your not goin to be that high, work on hopping as high as you can. when you move up to something a bit bigger like 8-10ft, carve the pipe a lot, youll notice that you wont need to hop nearly as much, nor will you have to really work your body on getting around you know?

the reason vert riders have their bars angled fourwards is because it helps them pump through thr pipe. Colin W. R.I.P. new parts: -poverty econoline 36t sprocket -povety barrel black stem -dk street fork (c.w. tribute) N.A.S.C.A.R. (non.athletic.sport.centered.around.rednecks.)
