Use thin ply for the surface and then just use 2 layers. It's not worth the effort to try to bend 1/2" plywood.

i use 2layers of half inch atleast.... on a 5' or more tranny its easy enough to bend with 2 people...

don't soak it in water. that makes it weaker. just muscle it down into shape.

just take the ply wood and put it up on 2 saw horses and wet it down than put bricks or something heavy in the middle...n' keep wetting it every so often

Just layer it with 1/4" thick plywood and double layer it. There shouldn't be any problem bending it.
