there are no pros to either one.

the cons are gyros are heavier and take longer to setup and get dialed, and they never work as good as a straight cable, they cost about 10x as much.

1peice cranks arnt that strong, their HEAVIER depending on brand and bb, you cant get a euro frame which most racing bikes are euro, and they take more maitnence, also the pedals are weaker spindles

i thought that it was against the rules to race with a gyro. don't you have to run a straight cable?

and i just weighed 2 different 1-piece cranks (including BB) and one was just under 3 pounds, while the other was just over 3 pounds.

I used to race and yes in alot of places its against the rules to run gyros and if they did allow it ... there would be no point you dont do barspins when you race unless its like the last jump and you know you have it and some rideres will do X-ups or turndowns or sometimes even 360s but theres no point of gyros in racing ....

one piece cranks are out man ... that used to be what you HAD to run back before 3 pieces came out ... but if your going to race run a 3 piece even if is a cheap one to get you started but thats only if your pressed for cash but if you got the money go buy a nice 3 piece ....

Gyros are stupid, it only takes about 10 minutes to install/uninstall a gyro. On the other hand, one peice cranks are off according to these guys, but they are lighter overall, not heavier (less parts, not as thick tubing.) They are also alot alot alot cheaper, and even though people say they break all the time, only for hard use. If you are a smooth racer, nothing is going to break on your bike at all. If you aren't a smooth racer, than you shouldn't even be on this forum, you should be at your local track practicing. One peice cranks are good for racing, eventually your going to want to move up to a 3 pc system though. They are smoother running, require little to no matinence, and look better. Looks aren't that important though, as long as you are winning.

Don't listen to half these people, majority of them haven't raced, and the ones that did most likely didn't do it seriously, and god knows what FlatRider is doing in here?!!?

There is something that you don't understand,
is that I make love to my hand,
so I don't need you honey,
I beat my dick like it owes me money!
And thats why,
I say
Fuck It.

I agree, run a strait cable for racing.

and I always say, run one piece cranks until you know why you need to go to three piece. and then, when you go to three piece, don't get cheap ones. spend the money and get some quality ones.

or just ride it till she breaks. Then buy upgrades from what you had break.
some kids like to get a new bike and dump a $hit lowed of cash in it just to say there bike as alot of aftermarket parts. When really , thats the dumbest thing you can do.

talk to me if you need a sig.

the cons are gyros are heavier and take longer to setup and get dialed, and they never work as good as a straight cable, they cost about 10x as much.

as usual you have no idea what your talking about
gyro $19.99 with all cables and hardware
good straight cable $8.99
hmmm..........to me thats only twice as much..........
and you must not know how to set-up brakes becuase you can get a gyro to work as good if not better than a straight cable
