man if u only startin out i would start small but allow your jumps to have room to expand. I think that a 2 ft jump is good for begginers cuz u can learn how to pull up and how to land without casing and all of that stuff. anyways when u get comfortable buildin it jus keep buildin it bigger and bigger untill its like 5ft or 6ft high. and then when u are really good u can build a six pack of 7-8footers. if u want to jus build a 5ft jump go ahead, but u jus gonna eat shit really bad. jus remember that your jumps will pack alot, so if u build em 5ft high they will be 5ft at first but after a few runs it will get smaller and smaller untill its hard as concrete, then u can jus keep addin dirt till it gets to the height u want.. i hope that helped LIVE TO RIDE ~ RIDE TO LIVE

when i first started riding trails i thought id start small. don't. at least if your building them yourself then don't cause u'll get bored of them after like two runs over them. build a fairly big one. then you can keep using it even after you're used to it. pain fades, bones heal, chicks dig scars, glory is forever.

3 - 4 feet well i dont know about all you guys but when i started out, i made a 4 1/2 foot jump and its not that bad, but unlike small jumps, if your learning on biger jumps and you fall its probably going come with more pain Its all about the trails! Dont play the gross game with me, you'll lose. If practice makes perfect, and nobodys perfect, why practice?
