Are the Primo Comet tires good for flat? Do they last as long as regular tires or do they wear down faster? Are they worth getting?

Ditto here - roll really well, but require a good touch for scuffing tricks. They're awesome for long scuffing tricks, and are cool to drag in big long scuffs.

I like them a lot, but don't take them to the park!

Haven't tried the Chase tires yet though...

i ride comets 1.85 (or is it 1.95? the smaller ones anyway) front and back, and i have to say these tires are to be loved or hated.

first time i put them one and pumped them to 90psi, i cannot forget how 'smooth' the roll became.... no treads (actually there're tiny treads but you don't feel them) means no vibration in your roll - i rode paths, walls and even earth sciences before comet, and the surface was wooden lacquered hall, so the change was phenomenal.. it's a tire perfect for rolling at high pressure, but the grip varies. on slippery surfaces it gets VERY slippery, but on carpark tarmac it's surprising grippy.

with scuffing, i agree with what they said above ^^. there's one more thing i'd like to add. the tires have TINY treads, and when the tires are a little worn in, it's great for all kinds of scuffs (eg small scuffs, squeaks, drag on tire, big kicks etc) but when the treads are gone, i notice something different (after wearing out my third pair of comets).

whatever surface you ride on, there's always a tiny layer of dust, which the tire picks up as you ride. that's always been fine, but when your tires starts to get bold - that is, usually right in the middle or a tiny bit to the side - dust can no longer be 'hidden' in the treads and it loses it's scuffing ability. maybe it's partly because of my shoes starting to wearing, but although dragging's still very consistent, big kicks are hard as my foot 'slip off' the tires. there's no problem with the tire gripping the surface, however, as it tends to be near the sidewall that leans into the surface and when those bits still have the tiny treads, it grips very well.

this did, after my first pair, made me hate comets. i went to walls again, and took no time getting used to them, but when they worn out and i put a new comet back on (as i have no other tires as spare) - i know i'd rather replace them more, than getting walls.

i have, however, not tried out the chase tires so i can't compare the two. but the comets are the tires that people love or hate, buy one, along with a chase, and try them out....

Yeah, they feel super good for rolling. They feel good for scuffing at first, then slowly seem to fade... They're awesome on pavement though, super grippy....... Lately though, i've been wanting some Revenges again.... We'll see!

A motorcycle friend of mind told me that because a bald tire has a bigger contact surface it actually has more traction on asphalt.

Dont know if this applies to regular bike physics though.

I KNOW KERRY GATT USES THE 1.75 TIRES
AND HE TRIED THE ODYSSEY 1.75 CHASE TIRES AND
WANTED A QUICKER ROLLING AND FASTER TIRE LIKE
THE COMET TIRES
HELL I KNOW A FEW RIDERS WHO LIKE THOSE TIRES
AND THEY ARE FAST AND LIGHT.

It does apply, you can't change physics. That's the first rule of thumb for any gearhead, the more rubber meets the ground, the better. However, it has nothing to do with scuffing, or flatland. And we're looking for the perfect all round tire. A bald tire wil always have more grip than a grippy one, for spinning tricks. (of course at 120 psi you do'nt notice so much as you would at 40 psi, like a motorbike or car tire.) Also you don't want your tires grippy at all, You want your tires as fast as possible, yet controllable. That's why i like 1.75s. Anything bigger is too slow. I think a slower tire is great for beginners. I know when i started out i was running 2.1? Walls at 60 psi or so, but all i was doing was steamrollers.

I hate the way comets sound when i scuff. They make a horrible scratchy sound.
