It sure is. Doing a 180 isn't about clearing the ground, it's about how fast you spin and how neat you land it. Just try it, it's not a trick that you can hurt yourself with.

That's plenty high for a 180. I'd say I get maybe two inches on most of my 180s (unless I'm going over something). Something I've found that helps a lot of people out is hip movement. Try to swivel your hips a little bit... kind of in a hoola hoop type motion. That works best on old school 180s, but the new ones work on the same principal.

As was mentioned, that is high enough - you just need to get the spin down. Try roatating 90 degrees on your back wheel then hopping for the second 90 degrees. Thats how I learned it. After you get that try less and less of the 180 on your wheel, and more in the air. Gradually work at it until you can do most of the spin in the air.
