Hi guys, I just joined here, looking for the place to get the goods on all things street/bmx.

I've been a mountain biker since birth and a freerider since college. I just got a 24" bmx bike and I'm looking to upgrade some parts, starting with cranks.

I'm trying to build the rig to be a street champ, no grinding beyond pedal grinds, almost more of a street-meets-trials rig. It's an aluminum frame and pretty crappy parts. I just got a sprocket for a steal so cranks are coming first. I also got a phat chain.

My questions (finally) is what kind of cranks should I get? I hear that european BB is the way to go. the Fury 24 comes with an american BB, can it be upgraded? or is it based on size? I don't know the diff between the two.

Any help?

I think you should get the bottom bracket that fits your frame.
And I also think you should get the Stolen Team cranks.

Straight up not to b a dick i think you should take your 24" bike and throw it in front of a big ass truck walk your ass down to the bike shop and get a 20" bmx bike just like every other person who has enough sense to know that its going to b a bad idea to ride street on a 24" bike

Give him a break. I can see where he's coming from.
He's riding a 24 so he's more comfortable.
But I agree you should get a new bike.
Look for a Shadow Invisible Man.
The best 24 on the market.

Hey bmxjunkie02, shut the hell up, please. You definitely " r "  being a dick.

Goblox, bro, cool to hear that you want to combine trials with grinds. That's creativity : )
European bottom brackets are the lightest, and light bikes hop higher.
i ride profiles, and they've been very very good to me, But which crank arm isn't as important as which pedal, or whether or not you want to have grind guards on one side of your pedals, because if you're not going to be doing one footers much ( on purpose : P ) then that'd be totally worth it.
Ask around, especially in the trials community, there are much more knowledgable people than i.
Ride on, bro ^__^

first off the only adavntage of euro bb, is weight, if you have us you can get an adapter but there is no point in your case  as with the adapter you not gonna be saving any weight anyway.
plus us is shitloads stronger thaneuro, personally i'd say euros pretty shit.

if your a long time mtber, then i see why your friends would be saying euro's good.

if your not doing tonnes of pedal grinds, then id say it's a bit of a waste, just increases chance of slipping a pedal. pedals if your going new ones, i'd go jim c's but i guess there just a comfort thing.
don't forget magnesium, does wear down a significantly quicker than alloy.

i could go further but i'm busy at the moment, might add litttle more in later.
