Could my handlebars be affecting my riding. My back is always hurting and i cant seem to get anywhere with hang 5s or anything with getting the back end of the bike up. Im like 5'9 or so and i run 6.5" rise bars. I ran these for a year or, but i grew from about 5'5-6 to 5'9 and ill probably be growing again. Anyone had lucky in getting higher bars?

I've been wondering the same.  My current bars are roughly 6.75" rise, and i'm about 5'10" and for some reason I just think the bars feel too short when I ride, and think that they could be possibly hurting my riding.  I'd like to try something like a 7.5" bar and see how that feels.

do you have room on your forks steerer tube to add some spacers?

If theres any extra space there, go get some cheap spacers from your local bike shop and throw as many on there under your stem, etc as necessary and you should be able to rise the bar height some.

My bars are 7" rise, I'm 5' 10 and they feel maybe a tad too low but they're fine

Also, if you do a lot of front wheel stuff grabbing the seat, try raising the seat some and that will help with your back

Enjoy

deffinatly try getting a pair of higher bars, just get a pair used and see how they ride

ive deffinately found it easier to ride with higher bars with a lower cross bar, they just cost so much money that its a waste if you dont like  them

Christ, clionb, you've been busy since we last talked, 1000 posts already? Haha dunno if you still remember me, i got out of riding for a while, but i'm back now.

About the bars, easiest thing to do is probably get new ones.
