Joined: A long time ago...

What programs do you guys use to download music, if any?  I need a way to get some more music for my iPod and don't know where to go.  I have had zero luck in the past with napster, kazaa, and even limewire i'm a little iffy on trying to download.  Are there any safe programs available that will be able to transfer songs into iTunes?  My friend used something called URGE I think, but they were .wav files and not .mp3.  Also i'm a noob when it comes to this iTunes software, can I do something as simple as plug my iPod into a friend's computer, and put all of their iTunes music onto my iPod?  Seems like that would make a lot of my troubles go away, no dealing with p2p programs and viruses and infected files and all that nonsense.
