has anyone really put this stem to the test?

the reason i am asking is i m about ready to switch my stem out- and i had  only 1 concern- it looks so close to the  fbm chokehold stem- and  when  i called about that stem (the fbm), dave( @ fbm) said people had problems  w/ it , and they made something new.

well i dont want to shell out  $60  on a stem that  isnt going to work for a few more years
so , any help would be greatly appreated!!!!

thanks

tim

Hey Tim,

I had one a while back before I started messing with stem reach.  I had the 48mm one, I think they only make 38mm now.

As far as the grip, It held on very well. Thing about the stem was, you have to use 2 american allen keys . 1/4 inch for the face and 7/32 for the pinch.  I was always lacking a 7/32 when I needed it. But no biggie. The other thing i often wondered, was how easily the pinch clamp parts would be to replace, if need be...??  Other than that, Great stem.

John
