just got my new FSA pig headset today and just wondering if all headsets are as impossible to fit!?  ive only tried by hand so far, im guessing ill need a rubber mallet or a few blocks of wood and a hammer or sumthin to get it to go in?

you need a headset press. you CAN do it with a rubber mallet or some wood or w.e.....

BUT

if youve never seen one put in in person the 'right way' its hard to replicate that without the right tool. you can make a press with 5 dollars worth of parts from home depo. but you still need to be very carefull if youve never done it before.

if u dont put it in right...the cups wont sit on there straight and they can  mess up the headtube.

you can get an threaded rod...or even an axle. and then put some washers and then tighten it down with some bolts to try to replicate a headset press

you should give taking it to a bike shop a try if u have everything taken a part and its just a matter of pressing the cups in it should be no big deal

ahh, thanks for the info :)

 

think i will just take it to a bike shop and get the guy there to help me out.  just awquard gettin on the bus with a bmx frame haha
