This place seems pretty dead right now but I'll ask anyway.

I'm looking for a new flatland complete back wheel thats in the region of £100 ( roughly $180?). With a freecoaster and one thats going to be fairly durable in the long run.

Suggestion? please.

well any good freecoaster is goign to be in the 120-150 range.

you should be able to buy a geisha or nankai(120), ive seen double wall rims as low as(40) less than 50c a spoke (maybe 11, id pick up couple extra so 15)

you cam deff make a solid wheel on that budget.

let us know what u decide to get!

edit: didnt see it said 'complete'. i wouldnt even know were to get JUST one wheel. specially a flat back wheel. but i assuming if u can get it the geisha back wheel from the wheelset would be right around that. if not...deff one of the nankai wheelsets

That's what I would get for $180: Primo 14g Forged Spokes - $20 Nankai Techno Lite Freecoaster w/ 3/8" axle and 9T Cog - $115 Sun Rhynolite XL - $45 20+115+45=180 bucks even. Light and durable.

Cool thanks for the suggestions you two. I might aswell just build my own backwheel up I suppose. Even though if I build it it's going to be my first wheel I build myself.

Actually I have a change of plans as I can't really spend as much money anymore. I'm going to keep my rim, spokes and the hub shell thing.

Above is the rear wheel from my 2005 DK Signal. Not a great wheel but it has lasted. I'm considering just using what I already have with this whell. To make it a fully working wheel again, what you recommend I do?

Also I'm a backwheel/freecoaster nOOb. It's the one part of my BMX I'm really not familiar with.

if its the back wheel of a kd signal then the hub should be a taska f/c. pretty much the only thing you seem to be missing are the internals...

ive never really seen taska internals sell individually. the whole hub goes for like $25 tops.

if you have the internals REALLY check them out...make sure bearings arent pitted or the wall the bearings ride on

id u dont have the internals you can either do

A. buy a new taska hub $25ish
B. buy a new hub nankai..geisha ...w/e u like really $100

you can always try to find someone selling a used f/c for less...but with somethig that needs constant attention as that i can see it getting sketchy getting one with an 'unknown past'

check out these sites. has lots of greate info on adjusting/overhauling freecoasters

i think this is the site i looked at when i laced up my first wheel...i dont remember i looked through a couple. has alot of good info. if u read it thorugh and u really understand it, youll be able to pretty much lace up anything with just knowing the pattern it needs without having ot have a reference all the time

Thanks alot for the help everyone. Whenever I lace a wheel or anything I'll refer back to this thread :)

However I just got a whole new back complete wheel. I can see some sort of smallish crack in the rim I currently have to, and, since it's Christmas soon, thought I'd consider it an early present.

"KHE Flat Pro Rear Wheel w/Nankai Freecoaster" - £114

Look alright doesn't it? Apparently it's coming in a couple of days.
