well proper bike company is making a rear cassette with a 6t driver

You would run a 17/6 combo for park... well lets say instead of a 17t chainwheel we used a 17t freewheel welded in to fit the crank spindle

When you pedal forward, it would obviously go forward because the both engage when pushed forward

But if you pedaled backwards, the chain would stay in the same place and the cranks could spin backwards... But lets say you were going fakie, it would be like a freecoaster right?

I wanna try this now if my logic is right unless someone can put me back in my place like the whole internal gyro idea

Any input?

no, it wont be like a freecoaster, the cassette will engage like your doing a fakie and go backwards and then the front one will engage aswel because the freewheel and cassette are both rhd so just think about it u have to get a mental picture of the freewheel and cassette both working at the same time.

p.s. i do like your idea though :-D

I was thinking more like put an opposite side drive freewheel on

Like us a LHD freewheel on a RHD set up... That way when it goes to turn it will lock and go forward and then when it goes to go fakie it will just disengage like normal

I wish i had two in front of my and a chain to see if it would work, its hard thinking about it

But the LHD freewheel is on the right hand side; when you pedal forward, it would be like pedaling backward, and you wouldn't go anywhere.

Trust me, if it could be done, flatland riders would have done it a long time ago.

nah that wouldnt work because the pressure would be coming from the chian goin fakie rather than the cranks and it would engage it. basically, it goes from push to pull. damn confusing stuff but i bet itd be frun to mess around with, and itd look funky as hell.

haha you an your ideas, man keep on thinking, maybe next one will be a good one, although, i have heard this thought discuss several times, theres something about it that people just seem to have trouble getting there head around as your far froim the first with this idea, ohwell. and yeah it's normally after people realize these trial bike riders that do it, then they get your that thought pattern, ohwell.

haha there has gotta be a way... Taking an oppostie side one and flipping it around or something!

But even if you wanted a sweet cassette, use a freewheel with that 6t driver

Double the noise, and you could do some wicked crankflips

Just wait, i am going to design a chainwheel that will accomplish this

Haha or just wait to get a g-sport freecoaster when they come out

I really need to stop thinking of stupid ideas and do my homework

Any more input on how i could get this to work?

nah but i had a fresh idea, maybe dangerous though haha. set a fixed gear in the back, adn freehweel in the front. you keep your cranks leveled, and the chain will keep movin'. itd be awesome for show. plus it would still function just fine.

I really want to see the 6t driver idea... Yeah there are so many downsides like chain stretching, getting your pants cought, etc

But the upsides are that your bike, with the right kinda cranks get into a whole new realm of weight, and you can protect the chain computely inside of small dropouts from grinds and stuff

I mean your peg would be lower than the chain

Think if you had an 16 or 17 tooth sprocket up front, a rear hub that weighed 9 ounces (that how much proper is claiming) and a TI grim reaper frame

You bike would be like 13 pounds

that would be waaaaay too light. riding would almost be out of the question on a windy day. but you hafto to admit, for a show bike, that would be sick. especially with teh chain movin but the cranks not. thats gives the bike a gangsta lean. moving chains are the new spinners.
