Iwas just going through some really old Freestylin' mags and came across an article that discussed wether or not pegs should be allowed on bikes during AFA contests (AFA , I know that"s along time ago). Anyway , Iwas just thinking about Flatland  without pegs.Seems weird to think about riding without pegs.I can't even imagine what our "sport" would be like today without them.I wonder what we would be seeing in runs today without pegs.Well I'm off to practice my Miami hop-hops and boomarangs.. Later .

----I'm pretty sure that no-pegs thing was just for the ramp riders, and I don't think it ever happened.

i think we'd still be using fork/frame stands if it wasnt for pegs.

I thought of this before and I even said that pegless flatland is the future.
It would be really interesting to have a competion with a group of pros had to ride without pegs. It would be very intereting to see there creativity and see what they can do.

I know it may not make sense to many people - flatland without pegs - but its a challange, there are many tricks that can be done without pegs, and many more to discover.

I remember that too, and I remember the flat part of the contest where Josh White placed 4th among 12 pros without any pegs.  The one picture showed him just standing on the chainstays instead of any pegs.

Yes, there was a controversy for a short time that said pegs are not freestyle.  I used to do shows on a floor that coulcn't be damaged so I did flat with no pegs.  Surfers, boomerang/tailwhip/decade stuff, frontyard on the pedal, rollback spins and tricks, G-turns.

There's a million of them out there.  There are tons of old tricks and new ones yet to be invented.
