| first, teach her what parts on the guitar are called what and how they work. start with teaching her to pluck each string at a time, just generally how to work the right hand, after that teach generic chords and simple things like that, adn give her excersices to do in her spare time. youll pick up on it as you see fit from there. | |

| she turned 10 today, there was 10 candles on the cake i taught her about the guitar, and amp, im using an old book of mine, it shows it by one string at a time, like the whole first page has only E F G on it, and the next page has BCDEFG, and so on, so thats how im gonna do it, she plays the violin in her school orchestra, so that helps a little bit, and i taught her the piano a long time ago, i dont think she remebers though, she plays the linkin park song-numb all the time on it though, give the doorman a fucking high-five | |

| Teach her the scales first, and tell her to practice them for a few monthes. It will train her to seperate her fingers and play frets properly. Plus knowing the scales can never hurt. Then give her some books on music theory, keep her away from tabs for the love of god! Anyone can understand tabs, even if they have never played a guitar before. Let her learn music theory, how to read real musical sheets and such. After scales, start working on chords, so you get into the whole multifinger playing. That should take up a big chunk of time, something like 6 monthes. I hate to say it, but the best way to learn guitar is by starting off boring, its the people that look at tabs and play little jingles that are at the disadvantage when they try to play more advanced stuff. | |

| yea i know waht your sayin, because i learned the boring stuff first, then i just started using tabs, and just yesterday, i looked in the back of the book to try and play something, and i messed up like twice on the star spangled banner. it deffinitly has an impact(and a bad one at that) her fingers are so small, she can't even reach a power chord, but the book im using is called Guitar Method book 1 published by Hal Leonard, it has regular music, and some charts, no tabs whatsoever. so i'll stick with that, and i have the second book, somewhere, to. But the fact that she plays violin deffinitly helps with like knowing the notes and whatnot. give the doorman a fucking high-five | |

| If her hands don't grow to much more, she might have to get a guitar with a shorter and not as wide neck. The size of your fingers and your control over them have a huge impact on your ability to play, and what you can play. Not that its your sisters fault, just stating the fact. Hell I have small hands so I have to switch and move my hand around alot more. | |
