alriet recently i was ridin with tim(glass city flat) and he finally talked me in to goin no brakes to get rid of the hassel or brakes and brake pad wear and other stuff like that....we whentr ridin today and i was tryin new tricks like side squeaks pedal squeaks  mc circles and when i had brakes i could pull a decade so tim kinda showed me how to footjam deacde  which is really weird butr accually seems to be comin together.......the reason i posted this is because i was wonderin wat the goods and bads or brakes or no brakes....to me it seems like since i took the off i can focus more on the trick then on when  to hold the brakes and when to let off em......i thought it was going to be harder but seems to make tricks easier thanks for all the help

I really like having my front brake on even though I only use it for squeakers.  It's more convenient for shaving off speed than dragging your foot on a tire if you aren't already in a scuffing position.  I dunno though, I could see myself going brakeless in the near future.

i snaped a cable maybe half a year ago...i was too pissed to fix it and just ended up takeing both breaks off.

first thing i noticed is that it cut my tricks down in half...

i did tough noticed it did get better at the ones i could still do...just not haveing the option of feathering the break got me to focus that much more....idk

deff made it harder to learn back the some of the tricks...but its deff doable

i say take them off....its not like theyre your testicles..u can always put them back on

Theres quite a few people that have reported to have gotten way better when they took their brakes off... Myself included... It makes you think different... and if you can grasp it.. you get good fairly quick... I couldn't progress at all for a year.. then I took my brakes off and BOOM! I was learning crap left and right.... brakes seem to intimidate a lot of riders into sticking with the scuffing trick variety and never really try the rolling tricks because for some reason.. a lot of them think that rolling is harder... but its not harder... its just different... I don't find rolling or scuffing more or less difficult than the other... To me they are equal.. and when you think like this, you start to see all tricks as equals... To me no trick seems harder than any other trick... most tricks to me seem like the same difficulty.. it's just a matter of what your willing to put into it to make it happen... if your not gonna dump the time in, your never gonna get it.. trying it every now and then wont cut it.. you gotta do it every day to make progress... My brother has been riding my quamen a lot lately and I've noticed him progressing faster... he's more confident on my bike for some reason... Try it.. give it a chance! I don't like hearing people diss on brakeless when they havn't even given it a chance... you need to ride brakeless for a year to have really given it a chance... and if it don't work out for you, it won't work out for you.. no big deal.. ride however you feel best...

I took them off because I'm lazy and cant scuff, so I just roll.  I also move around a lot on the bike and I was accidently hitting the brake levers with my knees.  not fun

if you can use brakes well, like feather and know when the right time to NOT use a brake is, then keep them on.  you'll have far more tricks at your disposal and it shouldn't hurt rolling at all.

I actually started out brakeless, so when I went to riding with brakes it was like a skill jump, I was doing alot harder shit in half the time. I figured if I did it one time I could do it again so off came the brakes.
