	if you've never bought cranks before it's most likely american, which is big and is slammed in the frame, with no threads if it is real small and threads in... its european i really doubt you have mid or spanish..... what kind of bike are we dealing with?

	big beefy BB's are american. bearings resting in cups that press into the frame. if they are big bearings that go straight into the frame its mid BB. if they thread into the BB than its a euro BB. and if they are tiny bearings that press into the BB than its spanish. i assume you have a complete which is most likely an american BB like DuncanPark said. But occasionaly youll come across a euro or mid. ive never seen a complete with a spanish BB before.

	definatly an amarican cause its really big and slammed in ther like u said if i wanted to get new cranks would i have to make sure they are amarican or does that not have anything to do with it?

	definatly an amarican cause its really big and slammed in ther like u said if i wanted to get new cranks would i have to make sure they are amarican or does that not have anything to do with it? pretty much when you get cranks its almost 100% definite it will come with american BB. what kinda cranks are u gettin? id suggest primo powerbites or hollowbites. most cranks come with american so your pretty safe but just to make sure what cranks will you be purchasin?

	you can change up the bb it uses though, just buy a conversion kit and the cranks.

	well if most cranks come with the american bb then why are most of the upper end bikes equiped with an euro bb thats kinda gay why couuldnt they just pic one good one

	cause american is cheap to install and make. Euro is more expensive, along with spanish and mid. Mid and spanish are the best. Why bother with euro or american?
