Howdie, i got my Profile shell for the nankai f/c yesterday.
Once it was fully built into the wheel and i inserted all the nankai internals into the shell; its not working right...I adjusted everything as usual but i could not seem to get the hub to run as it should. I took it for a session hoping to wear everything in on the first ride.

Seems the dust cover on my 11t driver is rubbing on the outside of the shell where they meet, almost as if the Profile shell is a ballhair wider than the stock Nankai one. I have to run the hub quite loose so the dust cover doesnt rub or if i run it tight the pedals ghost forever (but i can still pedal)

Anyone got advice/fix for this before i crack it open?

Here`s the setup, Profile alu shell, Standard axle, Quamen shield, 11t driver, stock nankai internals.

I could be wrong about this, but I am pretty sure you have to remove the dust cover from the driver in order to use the Profile shell...

yeah no offence but did you bother with a search, i remember reading a few topics mentioning removing the guamen or majic fruits covers, and i can't remember about the drive side, but do a search this is something so many people don't bother doing, it takes 2 minutes and might not work but it may., no offence if you did but if i remember correctly it was answered.

Yeah, you might not need to remove the dust cover but it'll probably need filing down at least! Search the forum is indeed a good idea ;)

I just got the same profile /nankai shell last week and it works flawlessly.  My shell also came with some instructions that told me to loose the dust cap to make it work properly.  Maybe they forgot to ship this paper with yours or maybe you didn't read it?  Anyway that's what you need to do.  Hope this helps.

sorry about the late reply, seems the 'notify' thing wasnt checked...
anyways yeah i got it sorted, it was atually pretty simple once i found out what it was. My shell came direct from Profile and i didnt get no paper with instructions.
I switched out the driver side dust cover for an older/ slimmer one that i had from a 12t cog driver. I just gave it a bit of spray and she looks good.
You can see the small groove the old dust cover made on the shell. But its all good now, I just posted my bike up in the Quamen photo thread.
Thanks for asking.
