I wanted to ask how long these new school frames are supposed to last?
I know the sick child has such a good rep for longevity, but what about the psychopower? Coz its slightly heavier than all of the other new school frames as well.  :-) I've broken my third frame in under 4 years... and yes, it's starting to piss me off.  :x

 - Does anyone have a psychopower since they came out and they ride everyday... HARD?

What would be the longest lasting frame you think out of all these new school riggs? (I know they're are alot of factors... but a general run down on PROVEN weaknesses would be a good starting point.) I'm familiar with a couple of weakspot frames.  :-P

even an og simple has a weak spot. at the top tube, one inch away from where it meets the headtube

with the 0.035 tube walls they have been known to crimp in at that point.... at least that's what i witnessed at Cologne Masters 2004, about half a year after it came out.

8 out of 13 og simples had crimped in/signs of giving right there  :-o

The kgb frame I had didn't even last 6 months before it was ruined... My drop outs opened up to 14mm from slamming down from hang 5's and hang nothings... I kept having to move my axle farther and farther up the drop out or my wheel would shift from side to side... I was able to fit 14mm to 3/8 adapters in the end of the drop out... so I could have done that had I wanted to run my wheel far out like I had it... but I knew it would have just kept opening up more...
weight doesn't seem to matter that much.. seems more to do with the design... the kgb was 5.5lbs and my 4.6lb quamen has held up a lot better....

Breaking frames is not something consistant.

Some riders break lots of frames, others don't

When I was new I broke lots of frames. course no handed miami hop hops didn't help...

Now, I wouldn't do those as I know I would break my frame.

Once I got to the pro level I quit breaking frames. (but I would usually change frames every year for fun).

Every rider is different. I had friends that broke frames every other month...

Since it sounds like you break frames, you should buy a stronger heavier frame than the light ones that are so prevelent today.

I ride a aluminum frame, but I am careful and I never throw my bike, like I did as a kid.

I also rarely fall, I usually just step out of tricks when they go wrong.

I'd say look into a FBM Equillibrium or maybe a 04 Div.

My Div holds up to light street pretty well.

That's crazy. It really matters what tricks you work on though. I've never had one frame crack or warp on me.

I rode a '99 Haro Master for about 1.5 yrs.
I rode a '01 Fly Micromachine for about 1.5-2 yrs.

I never had one issue with either frame. Now I've had my KHE Unique (4.4 lbs, aluminum) for almost a year, and I have yet to see any issues with it either, even though I'm practicing plenty of front wheel hang 5 variations that end with the rear wheel slamming onto the ground.
Are you breaking the frames in the same spot everytime? Maybe it's time to buy a frame based not on geometry but on other peoples' experience with the durability of the frame (Quamen).

I wouldn't ride a kgb. I have heard the frame broken story way too many times for their bikes...

course I'm not cool either.

My sinus cracked at the bottom bracket after a year of doing pedal hang 5 ride outs hard out of every link I did. It was barely hairline too.
