I'm just getting into flatland and am not sure how high I should raise the seatpost. I see some bikes with it way above the bars and some lower than bar height. does it all depend on how tall you are or what just feels right. I'm 6'2" and I tried doing some hang 5's and it didn't feel right. what should I do to get it adjusted right.

you gotta try it different ways. Myself I prefer the seat high so when im standing over the bike it takes about one inch for me to sit. it helps keep my back feelin right I run it super high i just have more control that way. im 5'11 and cant flow well with the low seat i hate bending over i like to be straight up all the time.

Its a comfort thing. despite what the trendies do, the seat height thing has some sense in it.

the street riders slam theres all the way down because it gets in the way for alot of tricks they do.

For flatland the seat isn't even a seat...Its a handle. If you have to hunch down to grab your seat in steamroller position, its too low. If you step down from a hang-5 and sit on your bike...the seat stabs you in the thigh....its too high.

Its all about finding a happy medium. Mine sits at about crossbar height on my bike.

i find it helps with the tricks you mainly do - turbine steamrollers seem easier with the seat higher but for half hikers and walkarounds-the stuff im doing now iv lowered the seat which makes the rear end higher giving me more room around the front wheel-im sure everyone has there own opinion on this though-apart from the trendy bastards!

I think the "normal" way to do it is to put your seat at about the same height as your grips. But that's not set in stone.
