This thread is just looking for suggestions if anyone has any. Lately I've been listening to some older hardcore, Youth Crew stuff like
Youth of Today
Gorilla Biscuits
and other older stuff like Chain of Strength

And newer stuff like
Raised Fist
Broken Circle

Anyone have any bands they'd recommend I check out?

edit:
Don't suggest anything that sounds remotely like Alexisonfire or Atreyu, I'm not talking about that style or genre here at all. Thanks.

Nothing you probably don't know already but for anyone else

Youth Of Today
Youth Attack
Drug x Test
Judge
Project X
Stand & Fight

Maybe No Roses, not really youth crew but straight up old schoolish hardcore.

Edit: I'm sure I'll be able to think of tons more at a later date but I'm pretty much dead right now.

P.S. If we ever get some mp3s up my band you might like. Old School hardcore, we just had our first show today.

check out terror
and judge
and of course, sick of it all
but don't sell yourself too short on the hardcore label... check out lamb of god
or go further back and check out other sub-genre bands like peter and the test-tube babies and oi polloi.
then check out the roots with the bad brains
and where they lead to with minor threat
then don't forget the california stuff like insted or inside out which could... if you let it... bring you all the way around to the deftones first album (adrenaline) which will lead you back to metal bands like soulfly and by the end of that journey, you'll be ripe and ready to listen to anything!

most precious blood
25 ta life
love lost but not forgotten
envy
better than a thousand
takaru
knuckledust

and just to throw something at random to you. circle takes the square

Turning Point--one of the best straightedge hardcore bands to come out of South Jersey from 1988-1991. Jade Tree records put out a discography. I highly suggest picking it up. They toured with GB several times back in the day.

108 - krishna-based hardcore. Highly influential. Members from prominant old school hardcore bands like Burn and Inside Out (Zack de la Rocha's hardcore band before he went to Rage Against the Machine). 108 gained popularity in the early 90's before calling it quits in 96. Recently reunited this summer for a gig and are, in fact, back in the studio recording new material and hope to tour again soon. Check out weare108.com

Hope you enjoy these bands as much as I do. I think you will since you're into GB, YOT, and COS. These bands are right up your alley.

I have some stuff from these bands (I have everything Minor Threat actually) but the others I haven't heard of. Thanks for the suggestions.
