You kids get so confused.

It's called a roller coaster not an east coaster.

There is more to it than taking out the brake shoes.

I will not tell you how to make one.

Page, Suntours are worth their weight in gold.

JB made the freewheel adapter which was a coaster driver that was threaded to accept a freewheel. I have one in the garage.

Jody had one of those on his back for a while back in 1995-96. It made some pedal tricks a LOT easier. It's a pain to not be able to backpedal to set your pedals, but its a lot of fun being able to stand on the pedal and coast in any position.

I thought it was called an un-brake...?

THe un brake was what the boys from indiana made
perry and bill...i still ride mine in my suntour  called the indy un brake

the unbrake is a lot older than that. i think JB made one in the 70's

THen indy boys must have bought them out or copied the design, cause i know the part to have back in 1990 was the 'indy un brake'

One of these days i'll have to take it out and cast it or something. Cause i've NEVER had a prob minus the typical lube job now and then when it starts to catch

With all the weird contraptions that the Hoods come up with you'd think they'd try to sell some.
Their ingenuity is what makes those guys legends.

Weird contraptions? Such as:

a rotor made of plumbing parts
the first un bike
the rear wheel unbike
the roller coaster
a locking brake lever using a broomstick hanger
the headset lock
the first london mod back on 92
peg and handlebar extenders
using spokes for a straddle cable in 93
a mousetrap zip tied to the frame
The either lever works both brakes mod
the Big Daddy
Fork peg bosses at the axle level
the uni-bike
A new aheadset cap for a rider owned company

We even made up some tricks....

You set it and if it goes off then you aren't riding smooth, of course.
