Next time you see Mark Hilson, tell him i still want that BACO PRIDE video he owes me. Tell him chris-crismas wants to know. I have a mess of old BMX magazines...and Mark made the Parting Shots on the back page of BMXplus! around 91-92 doing some OG flatland links at Lake Owen. So i hooked him up with a mint copy of the whole magazine. to say he was happy was an understatment.

give him a big wet sloppy kiss for me too!

if Cory Beal and his "the Spocker" had not just made squirt soda come out my nostrils...i think i would be crying.

i just got this in my e-mail:

That box set is definitely not happening. Sorry about that.

i used to hang out and ride with a few of you guys back in the day.

i'm sure i am not the first, won't be the last.............

but am wondering what's the chance of a complete 1-10 + uncut 1&2 DVD boxset?

if the answer is a big fat zero, is it a trademark issue? a friendship issue?

I'm no marketing genius, but there has to be (hopefully) enough demand to make something of this sort worth the time and effort and profitability to produce.

please bring BACO back to propsvisual.com

Q:do you still live in baco-land or have you sneaked away to megaroadfoolstour-land?

A:"In two ways I do not live in Baco-land anymore. One, I am not part of Baco anymore, and two, I do not live in Appleton, WI anymore. I have gone where I have been led, and I have been led away from it."

it's your life Chris, but BACO means and/or meant alot to a great number of people. Not just those of us who lived in the Fox Valley either. thanks ROOTS

i have yet to speak to chad or mark hilson about this, as in their desire to do a BACO compilation or what may be of the future of BACO but i know chad to some extent has resurrected the BacoVision/BacoDesigns name. other than that i really don't know what the deal is.

only my opinion here, but there have been some rifts between some of the original BACO guys, over what i know some of the story, the rest is none of my business.

i remember a BS contest at Scrap, a good 10+ years ago now, 15 or so BACO/Standard riders and supporters, ALL FRIENDS--ALL WITH THE SAME ENERGY THE SAME DRIVE, HOPES AND DREAMS, all crammed into one 2 bed hotel room to save a few bucks, a whole case of fresh off the presses BACO videos, and the anticipation of the masses at Scrap, pretty much all dying to whip out their hard earned pennies for a chance to see all of Chad's newest secret darkside moves, to see what kind of shit that those guys would be getting into this time around....

it is just hard for me to fathom how most of these original guys have been able to make a living through riding their bicycles, starting with BACO and progressing like so... Standard> CHAD> Schwinn> CHRIS> Props> DAVE> DK> CHAD> Haro> DAVE> Huffy> DAVE> macNeil> Magazines> Videos> Pro Contracts> Signature Frames> Multiple Skatepark Ownerships, even today(MESH-UNDERCOVER-AREA51) something most of us could only dream about and most likely will never be able to do. BACO allowed many of us, with every passing video, see the future of freestyle/BMX and at least for me, to feel a personal satisfaction in knowing that my friends were defining OUR sport right in front of my eyes.

Can't you guys put your personal grudges and bullshit aside long enough to show some appreciation for the so many, many of us who have watched you grow form humble beginnings to todays BMX Superstars?

I bought BAco 1 from Chad at a contest in Milwaukee, WI while we rode up to a gas station to buy some gatorade. IN 1988!!!!!! Man I'm almost as old as Brett Downs!!!!

I am not as funny as I used to be.....
