Use logs as fill and you wont need as much dirt. We have plenty of spots to dig from. All of the dirt is prefect also...its right along a creek, nice clay and topsoil. We also have some nice sized holes from digging. Right now the one is like close to 4 feet deep and about 8 foot or more long, and like 4 feet wide. And another one is about a foot or so deep..with about the same length and width of the other one. using logs sucks. 2 years the logs will be rotted away and your jumps will need to be rebuilt.

The trails that i kinda helped build were started by some mountain bikers, they made a couple 'death holes', then, common sense prevailed and they found a way to work it into the trails. Making 'bricks' out of sod, and piling it up, but taking it out of the path, so now theres a fancy dirt path, smooth as butter. and digging between the jumps is good too. but the paths and in between jumps is the best. So much dirt, like 8 inches x a million square feet.
