I was out riding Thursday after work, and was working on my kickflip hikers. On about the 4 attempt I leaned to far forward and caught one of the bar ends on the concrete. This caused me to pole vault over the top of the bike. Pretty scary! When I picked my bike back up the bars were turned sideways. I went to tighten them back up and noticed that no matter how many times I turned the allen wrench, they wouldn't get tight. On about the 5th or 6th rotation of the wrench I heard a loud snap. That pretty well ended my riding session for the day.

damn kelly. not that ive been riding that long...but no i havent heard/seen anything like that. i doubt it makes you feel any better...but my bizhouse stem shit the bed today. argh.

keep her. contact Brickhouse Bikes. maybe even Flatlandfuel will hook you up with how to get ahold of Brickhouse, i'm sure they'd be happy to send you a replacement. i believe alot of those models snapped at the neck there, with that "pin" where the bolts connect to. that's why they don't have it anymore.. but give them a call, or email.. get in contact!

ya neil, you said it :wink: brickhouse stems are amazing and they will send you one(or should). my friend broke his the same and he was issued a new one. drop them a line, doesnt hurt to inquire. did ya get a good life span out of it though?

although that is an OG (original generation) stem, yeha its an old one so i dunno if they would still refund it. but ask anyways... Just ride for yourself and for fun. | |

^^naw, the one's with the pin are not that old. Bickhouse made them without it for a long time before using that pin. | |

Holy misleading thread title batman, hehe. But I'd imagine they'd replace it. It is good customer service, and it can't cost them too too much, I don't imagine THAT many people really break them, hhe.
