1/2 inch plywood is still hard to bend. I looked into a 1/4 which isnt as bad obviously. What would you recomend for layering it? you can easy bend 1/2". just have it as the first layer and put it in horizontal. then the 1/4" you can put in vertical. www.freewebs.com/manitobabmx

I'm starting my quarter today with scrap wood laying around my yard, I'll have pictures by the end of the week if the weather permits. It's going to be 4 feet high and 6 feet wide, with a wall tap behind it.

Do what odd_is_he said, lay the 1/2" horizontaly, or with the grain going side to side, then put 1/4" verticaly, or with the grain going up and down.

If you layer it vertically it will be slightly faster and stronger than horizontally. But, horizontally is much easier to put on, since you don't have to bend it as much.

IF the qpipe is 4foot tall, and the diameter of the arc is 8foot, wont that make it vert? arent qpipes usually easier to ride if they arent fully vert, like if you had put a 10 foot diameter on the arc instead? I am going to stay relatively quiet.

i cut the arc a few days ago, i dont specifically remember what the diameter was but it worked out well. yea you dont wanna have too much vert on the quarterpipe cause then its not as good. Dance like you're going to save the whales, you fucking hippies. ![]()

if your qpipe is 4ft high and u use an 8ft radius than the qpipe would not be vert. but if you are going to build a 4ft, use a 7 or a 6ft radius to get closer to vert, cuz u dont want it so far away from vert becuase it will jus be like a box jump... except with no landing.
