Me and my friend are going to make a 4' tall, 6 or 8' wide quarter pipe. I don't want to make it the strongest thing in the world, but I expect it to last. Do I have to use 2 layers of 3/8" ply for the surface? Or can I only use one?

if you want it to last more then a year or two, i would recommend two layers. on mine first layer is 1/2" second layer is 1/4". it's all up to you really. www.freewebs.com/manitobabmx | |

What is your side pieces? I was going to get 3/4", but 1/2" is cheaper.

What you could do, is buy some plywood. Drill some holes into the plywood where it will be secured, and buy some bolts, that ones that stick flush with the wood and are kind of round and flat on top.. those will probally work good to hold it down to the frame. I was thinking about doing this, but I don't think my dad can get that much steel from where he works.

1/2 inch plywood is still hard to bend. I looked into a 1/4 which isnt as bad obviously. What would you recomend for layering it? Dance like you're going to save the whales, you fucking hippies. | |
