The legendary Birmingham Wheels is the venue for a combined bmx flatland and dirt jump event. The flatland is in a large concrete rink and will be an all day jam; no pressure, just good times.
Birmingham Wheels is riding distance from train stations in Birmingham, which are easy to get to from most parts of the UK. Its also easy to reach by car.

well there was www.declaim.co.uk, a good site. But it seems to just be a front page at the moment. Not sure what's happened to the content.
Where are you moving in the uk? There are scenes in the UK but they are quite fragmented, and this year there have hardly been any events in the UK, at least not full organised jams.

FYI, a crack packer and a wheelchair glide are not the same thing.

What's the difference?
Re: SCG Shoes posted on 2006-09-04 12:53:06
The last couple of shoes i've got through have suffered with the sole coming away from the shoe on the middle of the inside side. it would be good if the sole could be stiched and very well stuck up on the side, rather than glued to the bottom. understand what i mean? if not i could put up a couple of photos.

Yeah I had noticed that mine would look like Moncho's, which is no bad thing! In fact, the reason I have those frame and bars in those colours is because that's what was being sold off cheap on FF! I wouldn't have chosen the colours, but they actually look really good.
My bike has never worked so well, for the first time ever I am totally happy with how it rides. Its very smooth and solid feeling. The extra length will take some getting used to but I know it will help my riding in the long run.

hey andy i remember you saying to musslewhite that you loved them golden flowcash bars and they were every thing you wanted in a bar!!
[/quote]
Oh yeah, well i think that was taken a bit out of context! I was pretty much responding having the piss taken out of my gold bars. lol.
Re: Transitions: from zero to sweep? posted on 2006-08-14 10:49:13
I have very recently switched from zero (wtp flowcash mk1) to sweep (5deg fly suelo 05 Alto). I did this because I was getting the same thing in my lower arms; not pain as such but a sensation that felt wrong. Kind of like an ache that doesnt hurt but is always there. It was also like that when using a computer mouse and keyboard the next day.
The transition has been great, my arms feel better (but still not perfect) and everything is more comfortable. Its a much more natural position for your wrists to be in. That's why all handlebars in just about every type of bike have sweep.
In terms of riding performance it took a good few sessions to get used to but now my riding is better than ever and even if they haven't helped, then they haven't hindered my progress. Dont know about pedal steams since I cant do them.
I think it would be worth a try.

That sounds like a good idea. how ever did you come up with that?
In retrospect, the 'proper' dvd project was more trouble than it was worth, simply because of the fucking stupid industry which uses different formats all over the world. Compared with the time I put in I did not sell enough to make it seem remotely worth it, although hopefully those who had a copy enjoyed it. Getting money off people is a hell of an effort too. Data dvds are the way to go, and if I cover any further projects then i will put them out on data dvds. The best thing to do would be a data dvd available which can be put up by someone as a bit torrent. That's a pretty thankless way of doing things though.

p.s. i did it with flatground and ninja spin. i havent been to circle of balance unfortunately.
p.s.p.s I'm down for a copy if you ship worldwide!

I can sympathise with you there oldtyme90, check what ive been riding the last few months. The crack's growing rapidly now and Im a bit worried about it. Could be a bit of a death trap. There is evidence that the crack extends most of the way around the weld. The rear gusset is also cracked in 2 places, as is part of tubing by the BB. Its an '03 micromachine, had it for 3.5 years, learned everything on it and accordingly its taken a real beating. Time for a change I think.

well it seems the NTSC version doesn't work. :?
Im cant do anything else other than click the button that says record in NTSC. So i will make up data dvds to be played on a pc. This will probably suit some people anyway.
Sorry.

Clionb - global flat might not appreciate the direct link, best to just direct people to the site, not the url of the video.

Give me until tomorrow night and I will get a preview sorted. In terms of editing, its just straight up full footage, so nothing fancy. The quality is from a decent modern camcorder, put to mpeg2 onto dvd at 100% quality (using adobe premiere) - hence 2 dvds!

The Ninja Spin DVD project is ready!
I have finally finished producing a double DVD set of the entire Ninja Spin 2006 contest in Paris. It includes all 32 qualifying runs, 18 final runs plus the two final battles and a little edit of the now legendary UK roadtrip. You know this includes the crème de la crème of global flatland bmx. If the project is successful then any profits I make I will just plug back into buying tickets to another comp somewhere to do the same.
Details...
2 DVDs, almost 3 hours of footage
Fully functional menus with easy navigation
Available in PAL and NTSC format, should play on any DVD player or computer anywhere in the world
Judge the competition for yourself!
Worldwide shipping
I have made DVDs in PAL and NTSC format. For USA, Canada and other NTSC regions I haven’t been able to test whether it works. I will send a copy to the first person from NTSC region to order one, and wait for feedback from them before sending any more out in NTSC format. If it works then I will post out all other orders. I have tested the PAL version and it works fine.
I will be charging £6 per copy, including shipping to anywhere worldwide (approximately $11 USD, 9 EUR)
Unfortunately I can only accept payment through PayPal, cheque (UK) or cash. My Paypal account email is andywood84@aol.com.
If you do not have PayPal it is very easy to set up and safe to use, or maybe you know someone who does have an account that you could use.
To obtain a copy email me at andywood84@aol.com or call me on +447725144860 (mobile). I will need to know your name, address, phone number, whether you want PAL or NTSC region and PayPal username if you will pay this way.
PM me if you want more info.

Small print…The footage is complete and raw, and contains a few shaking camera moments, its generally good quality though. There’s no music overdub either, but the DJ there was pretty spot on anyway.
Peace
