well the only advice i could give you is to start on little kerbs, like the sides of driveways if you know what i mean, just helps you to get the front wheel up when you learn, then move onto just lifting the front up on the flat and stuff...besides that, just practice and play around with it...

i wouldn't pull the wheel back further, the wheel is good where it is, you need take like 2 or 3 links outta the chain  :|

I'm not scared of heights at all, but i must say on a vert ramp once i went up just over the coping, lost concentration, slightly over rotated and the front wheel caught the ramp and i nailed myslef into the bottom of the half pipe and since then i'm very cautious as i don't wear pads  (only helmet and gloves) so as you could imagine, it hurt a little.

Yeap, give the top of the steer tube a few taps and the tap it up from the bottom and it should loosen everything up.
