yep......things are a bit different here in the US. i hear people in other countries get to ride indoors at their local sports arena and hocky fields and such. that stuff don't float here. i could just see the look on the guys face at the local sports arena had i asked him to ride there.........he'd look at me like i'm nuts then tell me to get the fuck out of here. i ride flatland so i'm not into the park thing but i know what your taking about. i don't know what to suggest..........its an uphill battle with these people. for me i have found someone who lets me ride in their loft. it's small, no heat and the floor is a bit shotty but it is a place to go when it rains or durring the winter months. i'm in PA not far from you. good luck on the half pipe.

well don't take my word cuz i really don't know a damn thing about dirt/street bikes but i would have to say We The People is a very respected company. they make some nice stuff.............i've never heard of that other one. i heared through the grape vine that Winstanley's is a bit shoty. so i think maybe Dan's might be a better place to order from..........something else to consider i guess. good luck.

yeah this site has changed a bit. i like the new look but it runs like crap for me. i can't get to some of the menues though i'm getting around without them. this place has been dead for a while now. most jumped ship to a more stable platform. this is the only site i can get to from my work PC. my work place blocks all kinds of stuff now.
i here ya on the quality of parts. it seems to be hit or miss. quality has gone up and at the same time dropped......if that makes any sense. i got a pair of bars......one side has about a one degree backsweep. they are high end bars to. i won't say who's cuz i'm done complaining about shotty craftmanship. now i'm starting to make my own stuff. bought a pair of wheels custom, paid around $450 beans and the spokes look like they are pulling through the rims. they will probably last a while, just loosen up every so often. i've had some good luck with other parts though. my quamen frame is a bit older but i can't find one damn thing wrong with it. it's straight as hell, all the welds look perfect and its been takeing a beating now for over a year. same thing with my stem......never had a problem.....its a quamen product also. not that i'm pushing quamen but the guy makes some great stuff. i think now a days you really have to resurch parts......use the forums and ask peps what they think about a particular part. often times you'll get great reviews from real people who have had expirence with that part.
i owned a pair of s&m forks way back in the day when i started riding flat. i think they lasted me a handfull of weeks before they broke.........???.....can't remember where. i'm not sure how their new stuff is, i would guess and say just as crappy as they always were. i think the most important thing to look at is the quality of materials used in a part. anything made over seas is ussually made from sub-par materials. its how they get them parts made so cheap (and cheaper labor costs). so the cost of a part will most times dictate its quality. good luck......hope things go well for you.

here ya go..........i started just out of high school and rode a ton for about 5 years, i was about 18 years old. i just picked it back up august of 06........i'm 32 now. i've pulled back all my old stuff after about three months and learned a bunch of new stuff. i love my riding style as opposed to the old days. i don't have the time i used to have but i do manage to get out almost every night and i'm having a blast. i don't think i'm too old to ride............too old to turn pro?........yes.......but who cares.......i just enjoy wheeling around learning new stuff.
your only too old when your dead..............then your too old to do anything.

that sucks........keep your eyes pealed, those dudes are pretty fuck'n stupid. you'll most likely see the dude riding it around your neiborhood in a day or so.
then you could beat the dude senseless...............with your fists.......then maybe your bike.......if he's still alive after that you could ask him if he wants to go riding sometime.

wow!!......my login still works. i haven't been by here in a while. good work Nick, things are looking good.
randomdude.......most people seem to suggest the DK signal and right now the og balance 3 just became avalible not too long ago. i don't know much about either but the DK seems to serve well to the beginners who don't want to spend a ton of cash at first. i think KHE offers a complete yet i think they might all come with that F-set thingy (internal gyro), and i don't like the looks or the idea behind it.

i think Nicks ship has sunk. it's too bad. i really liked this forum better. it always felt more layed back here......
i think all is not lost though Nick..................there's always time for it to build again. good luck, i still drop by to see what's up every now and then.

once you get hang fives down pretty good, just lock your arms and take that other foot off.................good times.
Re: Hang Five Hell posted on 2007-03-27 13:02:16
you know whats more fun..................hang nothings. i have to learn them over due to my break. i used to have them well dialed........carving and what not.......i'm haveing a great time relearning them though. it's funny.......i get up there, then there is this short session of bobbing around trying to hang onto it. i got them for maybe a few feet............10 or so. not far though considering i was able to roll them as long as i'd like back a few years ago. i think they will come back quick.........i was just afraid to try them again for a while.

peddle and internet explorer posted on 2007-03-26 09:19:00
for those of you that are still here.............i ran peddle on my buddies pc, he runs fire fox........damn all i could say is internet explorer blows. peddle runs crazy fast useing fire fox. it's to bad most people have bailed from this forum. i guess we could only take so much. peddle actually ran pretty smooth for me though the transition...........though i have been haveing problems with peddle recently.............one reason why i wanted to try running it on my buddies pc useing fire fox.
just some advice to those still here..............cheers.
Re: Justification for pricing? Have they really gone too far?! posted on 2007-03-16 15:06:43
i buy US made when ever possible. the bikes that come from over sea's are made from recycled steel which they get from us. thats why their tubeing is weaker........just a fact. anyone living in the US should be buying us made products.......period. like some others said, this makes new products cheaper and better for us, all while makeing sure jobs stay here. support the country you live in...................

Re: Recommendations for a large beginner posted on 2007-03-08 20:33:06
a 225lbs. man is not enough to "flex a bike". bikes today are made very well. i'd bet i can stack well over 1000lbs. on my bike, and it would hold it. i've built mezzanines, fabed stairs, handrails, and a ton of other stuff, so i kind of know the limits. get some thing you like, and i don't think weight will be an issue for your bike. you may need to add a few more pounds to your tire psi.............other than that, i think your alright.
Re: Skaters and Bikers... posted on 2007-03-08 20:18:27
hhhhmmm........not sure what thats all about Mr. Jowee. so it's common in your parts to have break dance battles specifically between skaters and bikers?? that's just plain weird if so.........anyways, about your lost rec. center........thats too bad, but i think there is more to the story. i doubt you lost your rec.center because you lost the BD battle.
play nice everyone............
Re: Skaters and Bikers... posted on 2007-03-06 19:13:49
i'm sitting here wondering where all this skater vs. biker comes from...............was there some sort of show down between skaters and bikers i'm not aware of? don't we all have more important things to worry about? i know i do. i mean........if i encountered a group of skaters, which i will be come spring, ( there is a spot by my house skaters hang out at, i intend on checking out what they got come spring) and they were a bunch of know nothing jack asses, i would say....."wow, they were a bunch of douchbags", that wouldn't change my opinion of the next group of skaters i came across. i think your either a good person or your not, and toteing a skate board doesn't make someone good or bad. its' funny when i look at kids and see what lenghts they are willing to go to, inorder to feel like they fit into the group. i guess it's breed into us...........the need to feel like we belong...............some just can't find graceful ways of fitting in.........i guess.............................
Re: Skaters and Bikers... posted on 2007-03-02 17:35:18
i agree there.......i would hand my bike to no one...........except another rider....
Re: Rear hub help. posted on 2007-02-26 16:23:52
you could try shooting it with a pistol.............or..............how about try verbaly abuseing it, till it needs prozak to function properly................how about removeing all the greese from it, loosening it a bit, and then see how long it runs...............setting it on fire sounds fun..................if you have a friend thats always breaking things, you could give it to him........
Re: Skaters and Bikers... posted on 2007-02-16 18:18:36
i hate to say it, but it will happen again. once in a while it happens to me. you know, your just doing your thing, when some asshole driving by the local ride spot, feels the need to yell something like: "asshole!" or "you fucking suck!". it's alright, just think, your probably getting more done in your afternoon ride than they will in a life time. another way of looking at it is, to thank the good lord you are not like those people. those types of people will have problems there whole life, and some of them will never know why. it seems this type of stuff mostly comes from the younger kids (about your age). though there are some people who never learn how to act properly in public. i think when it comes from the younger kids, they're going to do a ton of things wrong before they realize whats right (so i kind of let them slide). when it comes from the older crew, there is no excuse.
congratulations!!......sounds like you are awake!!
