Re: best gearing for street/park riding? posted on 2006-08-22 23:33:32
Most people consider 2.75:1 or as close to that as possible to be ideal, I prefer 2.5:1, slightly easier on them big hills. To figure out a gear ratio, divide the number of teeth on the chainwheel by the number of teeth on the freewheel/driver. I run 36-14 right now. "Best" is up to you, some people won't ride anything but 44/16.

Re: pedalz! posted on 2006-08-20 23:31:02
Best way I found to stop shinners is to kick out when you slip a peg (if you've got enough time to think and act), and get pedals that grip, I got Jim C's, no mo shinners for the most part. No more slipping a pedal in the wet and casing a jump because of shit pedals either.. My last shinner from the Jim's was putting my bike away wearing shorts and the bike falling over on my leg.

The thing that would keep me from dipping would be the stories I've seen of people losing tounges, teeth and in some cases jaws :-o
Re: Bunnyhop posted on 2006-08-20 21:59:30
It's not the landing that turns your arms into jello, it's the pulling up, kind of like if you run for long enough then stop, and your legs feel wierd, same thing only with your arms. I land rear tire first, and use my legs for impact absorbtion, comes natural from dirt bikes.

I'm building this thing up currently 85' Toyota Xtra Cab 4x4, 5-6" of lift and 33" KM's...and some stuff, currently finishing rebuilding the knuckles.

Here's 5 things you can do about stress. Winston, Marlboro, Camel, Salem, Newport, Pall Mall, American Spirit. Etc. Works well for me. And I know that that list contained more than 5 things.

Everyone (including the manufacturers) calls them a gyro now, I haven't heard detangler since the late 90's. I had an odyssey on my bike, worked fine, but I didn't need it so I pulled it off. I'd give it to you if I still had the cables.

Quickest way to get better brakes for me, loosen one pad at a time, move it into the center of the rim's sidewall so it sits flush, pull the brake lever, and tighten, do it on the other side and my brakes got instantly better. I tested it, and it stopped 2 bike lengths shorter with one finger than before.
