hey im in far rockaway, ive literally ridden for no more than mabye 4 hours this last year because of so many different problems, but im really interested in getting started now, winter or not.  i guess im looking for someone just to learn everything from the beggining with, who wont mind me just being there watching and trying, and ready to go get help if you get messed up bad.  Im 16 and have a mosh brass 4 star thats thinks bmx is intersting and am now ready to get into it, but dont look foward to the countless hours in the small, isolated, boring boring driveway.

Also the guy who told you your brakes are shit quality and you should just get new brakes is most likely the retard, trying to make a few extra bucks out of you.

the only bike stores i've been to so far have been run by either 20 year old smart asses or older guys that have no clue about bmx and only sell the parts.

But thanks i guess ill either look for the fiesta upgrade kit thingy, or order it.  Is danscomp a good place?  I've seen their logo and name everywhere.

i just saw something called a fiesta kit or something that goes with the hombre?  If i bought that, would it fix my problem, anyone know?  And i think im "balance retarded" cause i was out there for 4 hours yesterday and still cant do a "front pull?" without turning my ankle when i land.  And i cant pull the back up either i only jump off (i was told to practice these in order to learn the bunnyhop the right way?)  But i guess practice makes perfect (lots of practice in my case) but im not giving up!

thats harsh, all bike shops around me are pretty cool, but yeah even if u found the nut at a hardware store that would now be of too much use since u need the 4 washer things that let u angle the pad. try and ask, weve all needed something at somepoint maybe theyll relate

i wish.  I i found some little metal things (3) just now when i was looking and i at least found the pad too.  But i need something to keep them in place lie the nut thing but i dont know what to buy.  The store told me to buy a new brake kit cause mine sucked anyway?  Its a hombre diatech? i think its called and i thought to worked alright with only one pad :-D.

hey im completely new to bmx i had a gt bestwick then some one took it out of my backyard right after so i just got a used 2004 mosh brass 3 star without the detangler.  And yeah it needs to be cleaned up and everything but what i found out after i got home was on the hombre brake (not lever dont know the real name) one brake pad didnt have the washer and nuts so the pad wont stay in at all it falls out.  How do i fix this, does anyone no the names/sizes of the nuts and bolts so i can replace them? any help would be very appreciated.  I cant do anyhthing in bmx yet cause i literally started today and i cant wait to start, if not ill be one of the few to go brakeless with the "hardware" still attached! Thanks

What about the new sheriff frame? posted on 2006-05-13 18:05:40

I just started bmx and was wondering what the sheriff frame was like, if it will be a good choice? or if there is a better choice.  Had a gt bestwick 2005 but it was stolen and liked the idea of building my own bike.  I guess the style i was thinking about was street b/c there arent any parks or trails around here, and Im not that interested in flatland.  Thanks in advance
