Freecoaster problem...?? posted on 2006-07-02 21:42:07
ok i have been riding my KHE Flatland for awhile now but latly ive been noticing a slight "bumpy-ness" when i pedal. im pretty sure its the freecoaster thats cuasing this so i take it 2 tha local bike shop n he says ill check it out n hell call me when hes done checking it over, so then about an hour n a half later they call me back n say that he took it apart n its kinda fixed n hell tell me everything when i pick it up. so i go pick it up n the guy at the shop says he took it apart n just tried 2 refurbish everything n now its alot smoother but even though its smoother now its just guna wear-out again n tells me that eventualy i shouold buy a new one.
so i have 2 questions:
is this really the freecoaster that i should replace n will it fix my problem? and
if i dont have 2 buy a new freecoaster wat do i have 2 do 2 fix it?

i also have the khe flatland n ya my freecoaster does the same thing
but i really want 2 fix it becuase when coming back from tricks that have your bike at a near complete stop it helps 2 immediatly get back on the pedals n start moving again

It really pisses me off. In my buisness, if I have no cars to work on, I make no money. I am paid what is called flatrate. Example, let say you bring yoru car in for a water pump and the book says that job pays 3 hours. I make 3 hours off it no matter if I finish it in 1 hour, or 6 hours. Anyway, we have been very slow lately, and I have been spending the majority of my day sitting around, waiting for cars to work on and not getting paid while a beautiful day goes to waste. To have it be nice all day like that when there are lots of better things I could be doing instead of not making money, and then to have it start raining as soon as I am "free to go" from my shit job just pisses me off more then almost anything right now...
Happens a lot in Virginia too, this state has a fucked up climate as far as unexpected rain is concerned.

why dont you just bring your bike to work and when theres no cars to work on just go and ride??

I can't really ride in the rain becuase I have a Haro F3, and the shitty smooth pegs that came with it. My legs are really ripped up from slipping off them then having them scrape the side of my leg.

yea those pegs suck ESPECIALY if your feet get even a little wet
Re: Total Noob question???????? posted on 2006-06-03 12:22:37
yea i have the same bike its pretty awsome and yea the freecoaster sucks but its good enough
but you should just do tricks on the side thats most confortable for you and after getting confortable with the trick you could always just switch it up

yea you should be glad that its all good now. i have had knee problems since last year and its never been the same. i can defanetly feel it when riding my bike uphills. but it also could be the cold weather ive herd that for some people the colder weather just makes them feel realy mad
Re: Discouraging posted on 2006-05-29 20:08:17
wtf!? did you say that you should learn easy tricks like a steam roller?? that is a hard trick for someone that is just starting out (like me)
Re: Discouraging posted on 2006-05-29 19:54:27
well good job on finding your balance point on the squeakers
and just take it from ClionB hes been riding flat with his 40lb mongoose for a while and hes just gettin a good flatland bike soon
and as for fork glides ive been having such a hard time learning them too. i still cant get far at all and ive been tryin them for about 2 weeks now (in between doing other tricks such as endos and Track Stands). and also in the Matt Winhelm video Ground Rules he says that going around in circles is easier but it complicates everything a little more if u ask me.
just keep practicing!
