make sure you save it for best results.

If any of you want to get a first copy, you can PM me and I’ll sell to you directly as soon as we get the first batch from the duplicator. Might be wise idea – I have a paypal account, just send $20 to matlander@sbcglobal.net at www.paypal.com and you’ll not only be guaranteed the first copies, but you'll be helping out Adam and I.

The entire DVD is over 1 hour long. It features never before seen bio, interview, contest section and riding sections of Adam. Adam also did the cover design as well as some flatland animation work that is amazing. The DVD also has a lot of jam style footage and individual riding sections with Pete Brandt, Dave Hanson, Matt Gardner, Shawn White and Andrew Scott. I'll let the trailer do the rest of the talking. Enjoy!

I'm going to try to release it to all the guys that pre order with me first.
So anyone that's interested in seeing it just PM me. Trust me - you all are going to be blown away by the riding vibe in this DVD!

Update; Pete Brandt posted on 2005-09-06 09:59:52

Just thought i'd post an update on the Adam Pintek DVD. The DVD is in it's final stages and should be available this month for sure everywhere you buy flatland vids. Pete Brandt has an amazing section that was added last week - unreal new stuff. We've done all sorts of crazy things for this vid, including one section that takes place on a pedestrian freeway overpass. We filmed all over central california in Fresno, Porterville (Adam's home town) and Pismo Beach in front of huge crowds. Also included in the Dvd is 4 of Adam's contest runs - unedited. I'm pretty sure he actually doesn't touch down once in ANY of them which is legendary to say the least. I'll keep everyone posted when it's finally available.
In addition to Adam other riders include: Pete Brandt, Dave Hanson, Matt Gardner, Shawn White from Bizhouse and Andrew Scott. Entire DVD is almost an hour.

Hurricane Katrina and Voodoo Jam 2005 posted on 2005-08-29 09:48:48

I heard that right now Katrina is making it's way right by New Orleans - our prayers are sent up for all the southriders and everyone out there. There's a lot more important things going on over there than to think about a flatland contest, but I just wanted to write this thread in hopes of hearing back a roll call from yall out there when the storm settles. Watching the news out here in Cali - it does not look good at all. Even the roof on the superdome has been damaged where thousands of people have taken shelter. Hope everyone and their families out there are ok - our prayers are with you.
I understand what you are saying Matlander, sometimes there can be no reasoning with ignorant aggression.

I am not there but I do have respect for everyone who is and dealing with this. My goal was just to inject some humor into what sounds like a bad situation all round for everyone.

Who knows how it will get resolved, but you know what? Today is a new day, new possibilities, new solutions............and I'm not high as I type this either - FYI

:)
LOL

Ride on. You just gave me an idea londinium. Maybe one of the clock tower riders should just fix up a bunch of phat blunts and pass them out to all the skaters and turn on some Bob Marley. Maybe then everyone would gain some much needed understanding. Either that or accidentally wonder into traffic!
I know people can be disrespectful but I'm sure breaking boards and violence will not encourage any understanding between the sides. Where do people get these ideas?...oh yeah, the example given to them by their government - I forgot

Also, I don't even know what to think about California anymore. Even 2 Pac lied to me. For your information Dr Dre and Tupac, I did go to Cali and I did find a dance floor empty!

California Love
True that violence never really solves anything, but sometimes it's necessary. Pete has been driven to take a stand on more than one occasion at the clocktower. It's funny too, all the stairs and ledges have been blocked off by the city and you can't skate there at all! All they have is a steel grate that they ollie over, so it's obvious that most the guys out there aren't really there to progress - it's a skating social outing.
What's worse is that there is so much room to ride/skate and these guys ride right in front of a Pete - who is usually by himself in the middle of some new, unbelievable link that can't be overlooked! You can't miss him. He's actually had skaters skate into him in the middle of one of his crazy fast blenders! Needless to say, he showed them the concrete.

I'm not one for violence either but if someone came up on my spot and completely dissrespected what I was doing after I warned him - there would be a fight. Let's just fight and get it over with.

Fresno and Pismo beach are the two places I ride at and let me tell you.
No problems with anyone. Nice weather. Netless tennis courts and uninterrupted sessions, bright lights that stay on until 2am? Lots of other riders. Ton's of tips. Lot's of positive crowds of people that love and respect flatland and the riders. Not all of Cali is frought with skaters. Most of the skaters I know love and respect flatland and usually sit down when I ride and would probably bow down if they saw Pete ride.
Pete, quit messing around and move to Fresno!

thanks for the help posted on 2005-08-12 14:57:01

Thanks guys. I appreciate all the suggestions. The program I've been messing with is somewhat limited, however I finally figured out why the quality was getting jacked - the capture resolution was on mpeg 1 and the dialog box to change it was buried and I didn't see it my first few looks.

Remastering VHS to DVD posted on 2005-08-11 14:40:09

I"ve been trying to "remaster" some clips from vhs and even some from a HI-8 camera. I'm using ULEAD videostudio 9 - it looks great on the computer, but when I burn it to DVD it looks really broken and pixelated in the background. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I have the original tapes so maybe there's another capture plugin I could try using or something. If anyone has dealt with this please help me out.

The Bloodletting

As the drink fills up the cup I see
Rising anger from the depths of me
Wondering why with dumbstruck face
As if blood never ran in hearts veins
Amazed. I haven’t ridden in 5 whole days
All the stress bullshit taking me away
Hasn’t been released, or drowned in ale
Won’t even come out when lungs exhale

Baggy clothes, MP3 and a backwards cap
Rollin out slow with nothing on my back
Taking all control on a flatland attack

Coasting out my stuff after one good scuff
Repeating repeating- it's never enough

Sweat drenches shirt, blood paints sock
It’s fucking 102 degrees at 1 oclock
My bike is spattered with blood again
And I feel more sane than I’ve ever been.

I will tell you this, they were so fuckin down to come to the Voodoo Jam and support Flatland.
I spoke with there editor personally and he loves to cover Flatland.

Then again who is bitching about them. Who are you do you do anything positive for Flatland?

BMX Plus introduced Flatland to me as a kid. I think that says it all.

Word. Me Too Scott - BMX Plus is deep rooted in BMX flatland Past present and Future. For everyone that rides, progression shouldn't just be a term that defines your riding level but also your contribution level to the sport. If you love it, contribute and support flatland everywhere and any way that you can. In doing something you'll be helping flatland grow.

I heard the first batch of these were terrible - like glass, so maybe I shouldn't have jumped out there to throw in my 2 cents on this. It's obvious some of the riders out there have been breaking them.
Hey I'm just a rider like you guys - in no way am I hatin' at all.
Peace out from Fresno no matter what your riding - keep riding.

Fuck Bizhouse "nonstop" axles! posted on 2005-07-25 08:48:18
Hey matlander,
I was going to make a post earlier but a few others did so i didnt bother.
There were quite a few areas of "grey" that you brought up that were, in
my mind very questionable.
I will stick to the actual value of the product as this is what the thread is
about and leave the "you should do this / deflection arguments" with the
other members to heckle over.

Corect me if I am wrong but didnt the old first gen KHE freecoaster
come with the exact same axle at least 10 years previously
to the Biz? (circa 1993?) I wonder if Bizhouse should be paying a royalty
fee? 8)

Also based on this term of revolutionary, by creating a 1pc axle from a
design of 2pcs I dont think can be termed as "revolutionary" ..... would
you term the odyssey seat post that has decided to weld the top part of
the alloy to the main shaft as "revolutionary" ?
However the odyssey intact post adressed an issue of the part breaking
and this welded upgrade was meant as a solution to increase strength
as the stress values could be channeled in a manner that would allow
the part to be stronger.

I am not going to go over the other areas as i feel you are being pushed
into a corner by the ammount of other riders who also disagree with you
and who are publicly showing their views.

But I will say that I think the value of your freindship is clouding your
judgement on the value of a well designed quality product.
Is the friendship making the axle it stay together and work? My nonstop works great and like I mentioned before, I only broke one because the gap in the back of my sick child was too wide and when I cintched it down it put too much pressure on the axle. Once that was done I've never broken one. That's all byke.

Somehow your right. This isn't just about axles, it's about broken people. Flatland is made up by flatland riders and that's it. Pretty much no one else cares. What are you doing to make it better? If not manufacturing, what? Riding is great, but I think we all need to contribute something more to flatland to make a difference as a subculture. Complaining and making chat comparision overstatements does next to nothing.

*~Matt G~*
Are you kidding me? Maybe you havn't been paying attention but I've put in countless man hours putting up very high quality FREE videos online for people to download FOR FREE at NO CHARGE. I don't design parts because what we have out works. There isn't too much I can think of that I'd like to change in flatland. However, telling people that this axle is the best thing since sliced bread because Pete Brandt designed it is just fucking rediculous. If we follow that train of thought I'd say the Big Daddy is the best frame ever because Kevin Jones is riding one TODAY (last I heard) and HE designed it. So why arn't you on a big daddy matlander? Why arn't you supporting flatland huh? Why do you hate flatland mat why do you hate flatland??
I was just making a general statement about contributing to flatland, man. No offense to you at all. I've actually contributed to your vids - they're fantastic - I'm not a hater. The point I was trying to make is a general one for everyone who reads threads like these. It's ok to complain about a part if you have a legitimate reason. At the same time try to think of solutions - if not designing one yourself help the company fix the problem. I've said everything I wanted to so I'll leave the rest of this thread alone. No offense to any of you guys - i'm just trying to come up with some solutions for you.

If you guys want a better axle I suggest doing somthing about it yourself rather than sitting on your ass, complaining. You knew what you were buying when you ordered it. It's a revolutionary axle not some "magic axle" that will last a lifetime. What new parts for flatland have you designed, developed, manufactured and marketed lately?
It is our job to complain about shit parts. As a flatlander I buy and use parts. It is not my job to design, develope, manufacture and market them. I do not own a company. When you start a company you are taking on that responsibiltiy. Untill then you are just a rider trying to ride. You don't want to be held up by some part braking.

That being said, some parts wear out by nature. Every rider should have extra pedals, cables, tires, tubes, axles, grips, and seats on hand and ready to replace. You will go through some parts but it don't make them bad. They just wear out. Things of this nature are not even worth mentioning unless is is an unusual and or extreme problem.
I'm understanding you completely. Well said. I think that eventually though the more you ride, hopefully the more your doing for flatland as a whole as well. Riders tend to be introverts and stay to themselves and that's alot of what we do riding, don't get me wrong. But it seems increasingly more real to me now, that if riders don't contribute, branch out and stick together with other flatlanders, our sport very well might be in danger of never getting the exposure and sponsorship that it surely deserves. Maybe someday flatland pros can live comfortably like they deserve for all their hardwork, instead of living in virtual poverty. It's up to all of us.
