Ok, we'll give it a shot. There is a little place Called "Brenda's" in front of the New spot. The address is 401 N. George st. York, PA If you get mapquest directions there, you'll be fine. The new spot is at the William Penn High school football stadium. It is also right next to the old armory building and the Codorus Creek. George street is the main North/South street in York. From Route 30, you want to turn South onto George street and head into the center of York. From Route 83, do not take the George street exit, unless you want to go through miles of traffic lights. If it is a bust, we will shift to the Pit. From the new spot, go south on George street, turn left onto Market street and right onto Queen street. Go a couple of miles up the big ass hill. When you pass Suburban Bowling alley on your left, you are close. When you get to a light with McDonald's on the left, turn left there. At the next light, turn right and then a left behind Queensgate shopping center. The Pit will be halfway up the hill on the left. I sure hope this works out. Let's Ride!!!

I'm behind Function 100%. I rode a big daddy for about 8 years and there is something to be said for a frame that lasts. You get to know it and it is right there. I also like that the function has the longer rear end. For me, most everything is too short. I love my FBM but a good part of my peg is hanging off the rear drop out. $340 isn't crazy when you look at what Function is. go ahead and compare it to a Fly or whatever. It's like comparing to a Hyundai to a Rolls Royce. Both will get you there, it's just about what you want to ride.

June 23 is the day. Good for students and the week after father's day for us old heads. It will either be at the pit or the new spot. When it is finalized, I will let you know. I can be reached at bmxstitch@comcast.net or myspace.com/brettdownsconspiracy Hope to see everyone there!

I have been riding FDR early for ten years. Before that, in the 80's-90's we used to ride at a skatepark that didn't let bikes in so we had to be done by 10 AM. We used to leave at 5 and drive for an hour to start riding at 6.

I've been riding really well lately. making use of the unusually warm days. I might actually enter a contest in a couple of weeks! first time in 6 years...

Thanks for not leaving me hanging, Nick.

My friend and I decided to only ride Vert this winter at the indoor park near us. We rode for 45 minutes last night and then we tried the regular ramps and couldn't ride them at all. Those 13 foot transitions make everything else feel crazy. Anyone else interested in trying? I'm hoping to get 3-4 feet consistantly by spring.

Well Pat, put one aside for my streeter. I just put an inferior freecoaster hub on there and I was going to get a regular nankai. If I can get it in 10 or 11 tooth I'll be a fakie-ing fool!

Anyone who wants to learn how to endo should forget the front brake and go run into a curb. That way is tons easier to learn.
Re: "Modern" state of Originality posted on 2006-11-09 05:18:26
In eighties terms, originality is dead today.
Originality is not dead in today's riding though.
Just like in the 1950's rock and roll was a new thing and there were pioneers such as Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis, those who followed have taken from the roots and created their own styles and interpretations.
I blame Kevin Jones and Mark Eaton. Prior to them you would have a few Martin or RL clones at a contest but most riders looked very different. When the K and Eaton busted out, everyone jumped on their tricks and it started getting redundant.

I met Paul once and he was a genuinely nice guy. We didn't ride. I appreciate his riding but I'm not dying to see what he is doing. I doubt he is spending any energy wondering what anyone else is doing so why should we care about what he's up to? I just hope he's enjoying life.

What about Bob Haro? For Christ's sake he practically invented freestyle!
[/quote]
Bob rides bikes here and there but not really bmx. He surfs and works. Still cool and into bmx, just out of the riding scene.
Ice still "rides". Last time I saw him he told me he was planning a Warped tour/huck jam type thing but with a street course rather than a vert ramp.

Nate doesn't ride flat and doesn't ride much anymore. I think Trevlon is still out there. If Steve Mulder stopped I'd be heartbroken
