Remove the paint from the clamping area on the bars and make sure there isn't any grease on them or on the stem. The rims are probably bent because you never tightened the spokes. On a stock wheel like you have, you need to tighten up the spokes after a couple weeks. The spokes will stretch quite a bit and become loose making your wheel a lot easier to become untrue. You just need to get the wheels trued. If you bought the bike from a shop they should do it for you free. If you bought if from a mail order, you're on your own.

Hit up my shop, East County BMX. I'm about 20-25 minutes from downtown SD and the beaches. The # to the shop is 619-562-3602 and I'm open everyday but Monday. There is going to be a contest at the local part the first weekend of November, check it out if your here at that time.

Re: will any crank fit any sproket? posted on 2006-10-01 02:43:54

there are a lot of bikes out there with stock 3 piece cranks with 20mm spindles. for the new ody wombolts you need a sprocket with the bigger 15/16 hole.

The Simon O'Brian frame was nice, as were the profile flatland cranks. There are about a hundred seats coming out that are the same as that new ares seat, but with steel rails instead of aluminum. We the People had a prototype sealed freecoaster hub, don't hold your waiting for it's release. The new Sinus frame with a front end that looks like the KHE R.I.P. looked good. That true 14mm Nankai freecoaster is coming, QBP had one on display. Suelo had some tiny sprockets, like around 20t.
I really wanted to see that Sputnic frame, but it wasn't there. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Yeah, there are a ton of guys my age that are probably stoked on this, myself excluded. This is a race frame that some people rode freestyle on in the 80's. Was there one with freestyle geometry back then? I can't remember that far back. There was one dude, Larry Manayan, I'm sure I butchered his last name, that rode one in the late 80's and was a real good flatlander in the day. He was actually at a jam in socal in early '05. He had a quad with him, but it was a racing set up.

The format is still being worked out, but it's not something that we'll post.  You'll find out the day of the event.  Just come ready to ride your best and be ready to be in battle mode during every part of the competition.  The finals will definitely be a different form of battling for flatland.  We're not sticking to any past forms of contest formats and are trying a few different ideas at E5.

Also, if you plan on competing at E5, read our section on the website titled "Am I AM or Expert?".  It'll clarify  some things to those that need to decide what class they belong in.  www.elevation5.com

I don't have a battle mode. Am I going to be bummed?
