yes, the bushing wider than the crank arm. i cut the bushing down after I let the loctite set for a day. I think White is putting some type of steel inserts into the latest batch of Bizhouse arms, but don't quote me on that.

Yeah, hopefully this will be a long term fix. I've has a couple sessions on the cranks and so far so good. I'll try taking them off and on a few times tomorrow to see if the bushing is holding tight.

nah, ody should warranty those. the guy who brought the stem in is on flow from ody so he wasn't sweating it.

I had a guy bring a elementary stem into my shop with the coil pulled out. I think the solid bushing has to be stronger than a coil. Either way, it's stronger than the original threads that lasted minutes, that's for sure.

^Yeah for sure. You're working at Oliver's now? Cool deal. Mike was the first rider I met when I moved to Tampa back in '02, real cool dude.

threaded in with the red permanent loctite.
Re: Send me your stripped BIZHOUSE crank arms...... posted on 2006-10-15 21:46:14
it's a solid piece of steel with threads on both sides. it's not a coil.

Macneil has licensed the "pivotal" design out to other companies. Animal, Primo, and FBM have pivotal seats coming as well. The Premium seat should be available real soon. I saw the prototype over the summer.

Just the tap. I has a tapered reamer at the end of it. It doesn't need too much material removed.

....or any aluminum crank arm, and I will repair them. I'll ream out the old threads, rethread them, then add a threaded steel bushing. Not a helicoil. Here is mine ,with new pedal threads, just before adding the bushing with permanent loctite.

So far it's working great, especially considering my crank arm stripped out before I even rode them. The tooling wasn't cheap though. I'm charging $20 for each arm repaired. This includes priority mail return shipping though.

You mean nothing if the bike was purchased from your shop? Or nothing to anyone regardless of where the bike was purchased?
Re: must read!!!!! posted on 2006-10-09 01:39:47
make sure the bars are not crushed at the clamping area. if they are a new stem won't help. a shop will charge about $10-$20 to true a wheel.
