WANTED:1997 RIGID Cycles Nate Wessel street frame posted on 2005-02-09 20:28:20

According to the press release/bike check in the June '98 issue of Ride, they came in 21" and 20 1/2". They were sold as a Frame/fork combo. I get the feeling they were special order/limited run type deals since they weren't sold through a distributor, you had to order direct from the factory. I'd be interested in knowing how many were actually made. I always liked the design though, good luck finding one. If you want any more info or a scan of the press release, send me an email.

Looking for 3 piece cranks and 39t sprocket posted on 2005-02-07 13:39:23

Anything will do. This is going on a bike that is just for cruising around. Condition isn't important, the cheaper the better.

HOffman Frame? posted on 2005-01-22 09:52:52
cheap because its made overseas? plus, hoffmans arent known for being expencive frames.
The prices for hoffman products has definately gone down since they moved production overseas. I couldn't afford a hoffman as a kid. now i think they sell them at target or walmart or whatever. I was kinda disappointed when i recently read hoffman's biography and he said they shipped the egg frames knowing they were substandard and would break (thats why they called them "the egg". I was told it was because the tubing was ovalized. I was a naive kid.) That revelation disturbed me somewhat, and it doesn't give me much faith in the new generation of hoffman frames.

Why is it trendy and cool to be depressed and sad? posted on 2005-01-13 13:59:20
Youve got one life, whats the point of spending you're teen years, the years every adult wishes they could get back, depressed?
word, you definately miss them once they're gone. No responsibility, too much free time, everything is new and exciting. You can get away with so much more mischief and wildness. I also miss going to sleep at 4 in the morning after partying and hanging out with your friends and waking up at 6 am to dig trails. I need at least 8 hours of sleep to function normally these days. I feel like an old man.
I agree with D and EP though. There is an upside to being older for sure. But ultimately how much fun you have is up to you and how you choose to live your life. I've always tried to laugh alot, not take things too seriously and always be on the lookout for new adventures and experiences that come along. I think if you do that life never really gets "old".

Sorry if that came off preachy, I just hate to see people consumed with negativity when there are so many amazing possibilities life has to offer.

I used to only ride s&m's, i had a dirtbike for years, finally the dropouts bent to the point of no return from riding street, traded it in for a ng holmes. i think the ng dirtbike and holmes(or dirtbike xl, whatever) have been beefed up enough to where that isn't a problem anymore (mine was from the early-mid 90's) I recently bought a WTP 4 seasons and it's absolute garbage. I'll never buy another foreign made frame. I'd get another dirtbike but I really like the beringers. So, in summation, I think it's definately worth the money. The geometry, weight, and price are all right about where they should be.

For breaks, my pick is Hybrid. They are in a class of their own.

Drum and bass>> J Majik and Adam F live sets. They kill it. Stakka and Skynet if you like a bit of the harder tech stuff. High Contrast puts out solid tracks as well.

Downtempo stuff, ala DJ Food and the Sneaker Pimps, I pick Massive Attack or Portishead.

There's my two cents

wanted: redneck/ redneck LT posted on 2004-12-31 08:15:57

i got a black redneck if you have a 1 1/8 stem to trade me for it. right now it's on my snowbike, i don't care what replaces it, diamondback stem, whatever. you pay for shipping and it's yours.

Brakes bars frame for sale posted on 2004-12-31 08:11:38

1 set Hombres, includes all hardware for front or rear setup. about 1 months use on these, very good condition. $12

S&M Slam bars, cut down some, still plenty of room for grips and lever. I'll throw in a no name lever and odyssey alloy barends. $20

WTP 4 seasons frame, 21", amer. bb, raw with clear coat, frame is pretty beat up, crack at the top tube/seat tube weld. Don't really expect to sell it, but somebody who knows welding could patch it up. I could even have a friend weld it if somebody was serious about buying it. $20 takes it home.

please email rather than pm. prices are flexible.
thanks>>>Troy
