Why is flatland not appreciated in the USA? posted on 2005-01-11 21:52:12

Well fundamentally i think americans have difficulty judging the quality of anything. So for them to enjoy something that involves any kind of competition they need either a score or they need an easy way to measure the performance of one player over another.

This has made flatland and other extreme sports almost invisible and caused the ruin of those that are popular. For example, i can not watch the x-games bmx stuff because its all about who can do the most double back flips and tailwip flares in 2 minutes. Few "fans" want to see technical runs.. its much easier just to count the flips and flares and award accordingly.

It boils down to flatland not being convenient enough for american spectators.

What computer do you have? posted on 2005-01-05 11:24:05

Im not a computer nerd, so why don't macs have any viruses for them? Is it because of the mac OS? If so why can't you just get a PC other than a mac and install a different OS besides windows?
Macs have viruses, just as most if not all modern day OS's have viruses - including the OS's running on your mobile phone/pda's etc.

Have a read of this if you want :-

i use a mac and after switching 5 years ago i will never go back. the os is more intuitive and performs much better than xp and it is more sercure.. even if security is only through obscurity thats ok.

also good article. but check the links to securnia's site and you will see who is more secure.. hmm.. do i want 0 unpatched advisors or 21. let me think.
