Does Ne1 know how to get cheaper airline tickets? posted on 2006-03-20 11:06:52
Sign up for the rewards/frequent flyer programs for all the major airlines. Then log in, under your id, and start searching fares and flights for the routes you wish to take. All this info is logged and about every 2 weeks, you will receive emails from the companies, offering the specials you seek....they will send you reduced fare offers based on the info you submitted...
Also, if you are a student, or young enough, like under 26 I think it is, go to www.statravel.com and check for the student fares which are cheaper....you can even just buy a student discount card from them so you qualify for these lower fares....
Also, if you really truly desire/require something, just imagine it to already be in your possession ...pretty soon after that, it will be. You know, you do create your own reality.
Hey, no problem...

Lets try this another way....
If we are all agreed that war is bad, why are we at war?
Why is it that some of our allies become our enemies? It would be interesting to find out how Osama went from being a CIA asset to being world public enemy no.1. The same with Saddam - ever seen the pictures of Donald Rumsfeld and Saddam shaking hands, all smiles together?
If you ever want some further insight into Rumsfeld, you may want to investigate how he steered his companies product Aspartame into receiving FDA approval. Feel free to google the horrific effects Aspartame causes.
Maybe that will provide some insight as to why I found the original story so sickening...

You tell me I argued with you and provide me with one meaning of that word. Unfortunately in the context you use the word "argue" your meaning is not correct.
You were suggesting I engaged in a quarrel or dispute, that I was trying to be in conflict with you and that is not true. So to be clear, I did not argue with you.
Having said that, I'm sorry if you feel I am attacking you, it is not my intention at all. It seems to me we have more common ground than differences. For example..
You said "I 100% agree that a prevention is better then a medicine" and "you can prevent soldiers dieing in the future".
Would you agree then, that we should bring the soldiers back home from Iraq now?
Also, to be accurate, when I used the word "ironic", it was used more as an understatement. After all, more people died/were killed today in Iraq, so no news story like this is going to be to my liking. It is indicative of so many our current dire situations where people are being treated for symptoms rather than the root cause of their suffering; where any brief pleasure masks the pain, where having to maintain an outward appearance of success or happiness further hides mans opportunities for true and lasting peace, health, prosperity and happiness.
Pentagon to millitary families: "Learn to laugh" posted on 2006-01-16 12:23:37
I don't believe I argued - that is your interpretation.
I understand that you don't get what I say.
The point is, for the Pentagon to be trying to get people to laugh, it is a little ironic considering how much death has come from decisions that have emenated from there.
Again, you barely scratch the surface of the real issue. The issue is not about making people laugh - no one objects to that.
A response without insults or put-downs is always welcome...

RE-OPEN THE 9/11 INVESTIGATION posted on 2005-12-23 08:52:11
Demolition is a highly precise science, requiring much effort and calculation in order to bring a building down. Do you imagine with all that NYFD had to deal with that day, that someone there would be able to hire a demolition team, sign a contract and have the building wired up with explosives in just a few hours. WTC 7 is a 47 storey building remember. It would be wise to look into who were the occupants of that building too...
As for the Popular Mechanics article - I have previously addressed this in the political forum. To recap, it is a disinfo piece.

You may want to look inward to find out the true reason for exuding such negativity. I wish you luck in your healing process.
Chase is cool; perhaps you may want to talk to him first and then form an opinion after. That tends to be the best way.
Again, good luck.
RE-OPEN THE 9/11 INVESTIGATION posted on 2005-12-21 09:04:50
When searching for the truth, the first step is to decide how important the truth is, just how much are we prepared to give up to find it and are we truly, genuinely searching?
If you are searching for the truth, one needs to be able to suspend all so called beliefs as they may interfere with the search.
"All truth passes through 3 stages.
1st it is ridiculed.
2nd it is violently opposed.
3rd it is accepted as being self-evident".
Now, the truth is important but it needs context, so how about the whole truth? The whole truth, in this case, would be to consider in what context did the 9/11 event occur in, the historical, the political, the evolutionary apect, etc. For 9/11 was just another event in a series of events.
So then you get to the truth, the whole truth...so how about, "and nothing but the truth". How is all this going to affect you, your truth(or dream, life, wordview)?
For me, the government is responsible for more terrorist acts than anyone else. They are trying to keep everyone in a state of constant fear through various means, one being divide and conquer. Oceania always needs an enemy. When you have an outside threat, your attention is diverted away from the inside. It keeps you in your fight or flight mode - not a mode where you can rationally think things through.
When you elevate from this mindset, the constant noise ceases and you are able to see the picture more clearly. Flying towards the mountain in a plane is scary but when the plane ascends, you are able to look at the mountains not in fear, but from an observational perspective.
From this position, we see things more for what they really are, as an observer you could say. And now having that perspective allows you to....move forward in your path.
These days I tend not to listen to people who spread fear.

It could be argued that you have tried to glamourise "having a good job making lots of money" on this flatland forum.....and you have told us that you happily submit to drug tests.
So in order for you to be making lots of money, you pee in a cup voluntarily? That is kinda degrading...

Steve Potts = Mike Buffs brother - that surprised me!
and where does the spin-master come into this timewise?
Another interesting tidbit is the Potts Mod 2 was the locking lever, also made by ACS initially. Steve Potts should be living like a king if he was getting royalties.
Jfos,
The parallels between pot and flatland are interesting, and that is why I have such a strong opinion on this.
I think we can all agree that there is very little money to be made in "flatland". And that used to not be the case. I wore a uniform for the first half of my flatland "career". Back then Pro's made good money, enough to have a decent living. But, now it is really hard to make a living off of the sport.
I think that is because of our lack of concentrating on our "image". We have to look at this as a business if we want to get back to the point where parents will shell out money to have their kids emulate the riders they see on tv.
Dave Mirra has a good image and because of that image he has made a ton of money. Mostly from Corporate America. Flatlanders should take a page from his book to see how to represent themselves.
Because people are always watching.
Image is everything. Sadly flatlands image is similar to the old skateboarder image in the 80's.
An image that Corporate America wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole.
You have an interesting viewpoint. Here is mine....
Image is just image, it is not everything. However, it may appear that image is everything if you are trying to sell people something.
The last thing I want to think about flatland as being, is like a business.
When you are riding well and lost in the moment, being creative, focused intuitively into the space of the unmind, well, it is something a little deeper, more meaningful. So to equate it with dollars or wrap it up into a situation that requires a drug test does not honor it.
I smoke it. But then again, I lack good judgement sometimes.
I am sure making a ton of money is not your only motivation but it does seem that many get their sense of identity from this way of measuring. Having a career or riding your bike for pleasure should not be better than the other, just personal choice. I just get more from riding than pursuing something else.
Perhaps I also feel this way because I have such disdain for the corporate life...it doesn't give the rewards I am looking for.
DONT WORRY , BE HAPPY posted on 2005-12-13 10:42:35
Again, The Holographic Universe is a great book to start with, when considering many of these things.
At least that is my humble recommendation....
Don't worry, as you are fine right now and worry is only an emotion that is concerned with the future, the future being something we are unable to quantify, qualify, know and this often leads to fear or its derivatives. Right now you are fine.....so be happy, as only now can you be happy, not in the future, or when you reach some goal or perceived wealth, status, grades, skill, etc.
Thats brief and may have flaws in it but thats fine, I don't know as much as many other people do about this one - I'm still learning.
