1 | 2 Next >>Choosing new FRONT BRAKE - input need.... posted on 2006-11-07 01:17:16
I was thinking to change my front brake AD990 after a 5 years or so of using. And I know that (maybe) the SUELO fly front brake is best one but maybe too much money. Also there is Odyssey evolver or Revenge or Primo e brake.
Im talking about front brake for flatland and here in Serbia we dont have many riders so we dont have chance to see and try different parts, so I need little input from you guys who try those.
Please tell me which one will be the best to buy and which one will be best quality/money value there?
Thanks.
Vik

Re: bent axels over and over again posted on 2006-05-31 04:40:31
I was having the same problem back in the day, but 8th axles is....nevermind.
So here I go: the TI axle is not stronger then crmo. the Standard or Kink axle will not gonna bent but it will be snaped! I was use Kink ones and it holds like 3 weeks and it snaps. Also I was talking with Rob TEX Thayer when he was at my house about it and he says the best option is to ride crmo axle.
Also you will need to work out with your dropouts on frame and fork. Im usin a SUNN Palomino fork which has bigger dropouts then most of the newschool lightweight forks now but Im sure that my axle will not be bent no more for sure. Im using a Seventies sealed front hub which has biger washers that touches the fork dropouts.
On the back wheel I run Nankai with his stock axle for about 3 years now (believe it or not). Im riding a Micromachine (the older version not Gomez signature one). I'm around 73kg weight.
Maybe this one will help you if Kink produce them even now, but if not you can mide it by yourself for sure. Kink was selling back in the day double sized washers and theyre job was to keep stronger your axle and dropout.
Once (before I was get Sunn fork) I made those washer by my self and they work fine on my old fork and frame.
I hope I help a little.

i think hes talking about a hang 10 no handed, when you lean your body against the handle bars
anyone have any tips for these? i wanna learn them too but havent been able to make it work
Yes you understand me
Jay Jone also use to do a version where both feet where on the pegs, no handed but legs never touched the handlebars.....instead he clenched the top tube with his knees.........
Never heard of those but sonuds good. I think I'm gonna learn first hang ten with my both knees pushing the bars (if someone gave some tips) and my hands in the air.
For me they were a ton easier to learn if I started by doing the hang 10 seat grab and then moving forwards, resting my knees on the bars and dropping the seat. Hang5 straight into then is a diferent thing....
ok that sounds good too, and I was try seat grab hang ten but I can't do them eather. I figure that I gotta push my body forward when I grab the seat. Am I right?
