My comments added in bold and brakets below.
I apologize sir, [ Hey thanks]  Hating hippies is different because you hate what they stand for, [ you hate peace and love?] its like hating Nazis, KKK members, Black Panthers, Republicans.  But its ok to hate those groups right?  But its not ok to hate hippies?  That just doesn't make sense. [Man, comparing Hippies to Nazis, now that's a tortured comparison. Not to mention, I never endorsed hating any group. Although, I obviously could see how one might have a problem with the Nazi regime because they looked to dominate anything in their path...Nevertheless, to compare Hippies to them just hurts my eyes and makes a little bit a of puke come up my throat for real]

The reason why I am not going to answer your question is because it is basically ridiculous to me.  Thats not how the world works, and it changes what a race really is. [ that's what hypothetical questions are for] Instead of it being what a person is, if it is chosen by choice, it becomes like being a life choice, and what that person stands for, demeaning it.  Its like a person being born and saying I want to be white so I can get good jobs easier, or being black so I can be good at sports, now its a choice, that person wants to be good at sports so he choose to be black, like a person choosing to be a hippy so he can protest [ wait a second now, protesting is "DOING" something and it can be very constructive] and smoke pot, like a person choosing to be a Nazi so he can hate Jews with his friends. [ How is chosing to protest and smoke pot at all like chosing to hate someone or some race? Explain?] Race doesn't mean the same thing anymore if it is chosen.
By the way, these are just examples using stereotypes I don't honestly think that all black people are good at sports, or white people automatically get better jobs, I'm just generalizing for example. [ Not generalizing, stereotyping...and you message remains unclear.]

As for hypocrites, yeah, everyone at some point is a hypocrite, hippies live a hypocritical existence.  Not all hippies are pot smokers, but they all tend to be slacker reject, drop-outs. [ i.e. counter-cultural] Complaining about the way things are, but never do they try to change anything, or put forth some kind of answer, all they do is sit around a say it has to change, yet they do nothing to help the changing process. [ You said yourself that they protest right? How is that all of a sudden nothing? ]

Really it comes down to what kind of a person you are, I'm more of a fatalist in this respect.  If you aren't part of the solution you are part of the problem. [ What if in some cases the solution is to sit arround smoke some pot and complain about the bullshit structures? Never entertained that notion huh?]

Well, I don't think my comparison was "ignorantly" made--in fact, I gave REASONS for it, whereas, all you've said is that "they are not even close" and the only shady reason you've given is that "it's a choice". Furthermore, when I called you on that lack-of-logic by asking if it would be o.k. to hate people of other races if they were able to choose what race they could be, you simply didn't answer my question.

Also, everyone has been hypocritical at least once in their lifetime, and many do it all the time--so that can't be a good reason to hate anyone (unless ofcaorse you want to hate everyone). So then what? does it simply boil down to people who smoke pot? do you hate pot-smokers? I can understand having a problem with really dumb people (and if they smoke pot all the time it may compound the problem), i.e. it can be frustrating to try and get through to them at all but, I think it's superficial and misleading to simply label them all as "hippies" --if that were the case, I'd be calling a few of the people on this thread hippies.

Holy fuck haters! At least some of them chellenged the bullshit structures of society. If you looked into some of the counter-cultural movement of the sixties you'd find some beautiful ideals, regardless if they really succeeded or not. Most of those comments, if directed at a particular race would be blatant racism. What the fuck is wrong with you people? --Eric Cartman says "fuckin' hippies", someone laughs, and now its cool to simple-mindedly generalize that they are all drug-addict screw-ups?
The difference between racism and hating hippies is you don't choose your race, but you choose to be a tree-hugger.  It is unfair to compare hating hippies to something serious like racism.  Hating hippies is just a way of life, they bring it upon them selves though.  Hippies are hypocrits, in the words of Eric Cartman, "they talk about saving the Ozone and the enviorment and shit, then they drive around in shitty cars that get horrible gas mileage."
I take it you hate gays too? By your lack-of-logic you should because it's a choice isn't it?

Show me one person who has never been a hypocrite and I'll show you an invisible pink unicorn. Maybe they can't afford ultra high efficiency cars ever think of that? You guys are seriously fucked. I don't know what happened to the definition of hippy but I think you guys are talking about something other than the original movement because it was probably the greatest counter-cultural movement in the west (next to the civil rights movement pursued by african-americans). To hate anyone is just fucked either way, but to hate an entire group of people is a form of cultural hatred that is no different than racial prejudice/hatred.

What if people could choose to be a certain colour at birth?--does that then justify YOUR hatred because they made a choice? Your notions are idiocy and bigotry personified and I'm guessing you neck is at least a little pink if not full blown red.

Again my words in brackets and bolded below,
Look bitches, [now that's just rude and immature] if riding is all about fun, [ That's a big "if", to many it is lot more or even something else entirely] why do you give a fuck what tricks people wanna do? [ Well why do you give a fuck what people give a fuck about?] You'll suck the cock of whoever your riding buddy is even if they were in said category. [ Really? Damn, I need to get me some riding buddies] Why is it North Americans bitching about clones? [ Why not?] Why do you think we have no contests? [ Because there is no money/ corporate support or initiative perhaps?] It's because of bitches like you. [ Potty mouth!] Overseas people just wanna ride for fun and still compete too, they have a way better scene because it's not so cut throat or drama ish. [ I have news for you, there's plenty of drama everywhere] People just wanna do tricks they like they don't expect that they're owed anything. [ Good for them]

If people are worried about originality why don't they just BE original then and show us the light? [ Because it will be coppied anyways perhaps?] So far those haters ain't backin shit just talkin a whole lotta noise. [ Well then this thread is a sort of copy-cat crime isn't it?]

SO NEXT TIME YOU WANNA BITCH AND COMPLAIN ABOUT FLATLAND/JUDGING/ORIGINALITY/CONTEST RIDNG, ETC. REMEMBER THAT IT'S YOU ( and yes pros that also includes you) WHO ARE ACTUALLY RUINING FLATLAND AND NOT THOSE WHO YOU ACCUSE. [ Really? That's a pretty serious claim, with absolutely no support; to say that your bitching about the criticism in flatland is ruining flatland is essentially equivalent to your previous statement.]

PEACE!
[p.s. Furthermore, let me set the record straight, there is a big difference between "bitching" and "criticism" : the former is essentially useless and pointless (i.e. it has no practical value perhaps other then "letting off steam"), the later however, serves more constructive purposes; for example, 1- to enlighten people to how things are, 2- to challenge or inspire them to develop a more refined understanding, 3- to point the way to a better state of affairs, etc...the list goes on. So please don't drop some vogue/vague slang and only superficially (if at all), acknowledge the subject matter or purpose of other's actions in an attempt to rally people to your own simplistic view.]

I dont want to be a dick or anything, but maybe Brandon is just a little pissed that either A) He cant do turbines, or B) He can do turbines, but cant go very fast.  Seriously, what the fuck man?  I like to do turbines because I like to go fast, not because its trendy.  Also, going as fast as physically possible takes alot of practice to get up to that momentum and keep it going, as opposed to going at a normal speed.  From my own riding, it takes alot more control to go either super slow, or go super fast, not a normal speed.

And you getting pissed off about turbines is just as fucking rediculous as getting mad at people who dont have brakes, or people who do decades.
Some people just make what they want of my posts it seems.
A) I can do turbines, B) I can do them as fast as anyone else...And I never said I didn't like turbines, they are awsome. Man, I don't know what to tell you but to re-read my posts and focus on what I said not what you assume I mean.

While the wives of dead husbands might use their husbands death as a political platform, republicans use the all of the deaths of september 11th as a political platform.
Yup, I've heard "September 11th" so often that I think it has become a subconscious Jungian archetype for the majority of people in the West--one that effects a multitude of emotional excitations that are used to manipulate people against employing any power of rational judgement. Call it a hunch.

Turbined Steam-Rollers are the new Funky Chicken posted on 2006-06-12 22:00:49

You know it's true.

Hey kids, you wanna go Pro in two years? That is, have a super fast 2 min run for a contest and not have to learn any other tricks? Practice nothing but high speed turbined steam-rollers and maybe throw in a bar flip to tomahawk while you're at it...that's sure to make you look Pro Style!!

Why not knock yourself out and learn some turbined hang-five to McCircles too. Seriously, they are very original. Also, whatever you do, do it as fast as physically possible that is the only way to have Cool-Style!!

That's right, me, teaching the clones of tomorrow...I mean pro's of tomorrow

p.s. Go ahead Teej...tell me that people can do whatever they want, or why not someone tell me, It's FREEstyle" because I've never heard that one before.

The freaking jersey girls or whatev are living up the fact their cushy executive conservative better halfs died by a odd circumstance by enjoying the media attention they recieved and using it as a platform for their own agendas. Ann Coulter is 100% RIGHT
So what? This Ann bitch gets to say who is allowed to say what? Fuck her, "don't use your husbands deaths as an opportunity for a political platform" -- Well then what the fuck is she doing? I'll tell you; she is simply reiterating what they did with a contrary b.s. conservative agenda. Even if that is what they are doing, it's called freedom (of speech), you know--what your soldiers are in Iraq fighting for, duh?

Re: Ground force posted on 2006-06-12 09:31:39

So where can one find the full results anyhow?

Re: Ground force posted on 2006-06-11 20:00:56

Dude, that is soo fucked up!! ARG!!

Justin got fucked over again? No wonder flatland isn't growing, who wants to get involved when your hours of hard effort go unrewarded. I'm so pissed. Justin needs to take me on trips to these comps to choke out these fuck-ups who say shit like this. What does he need to do to win? wear a shirt on his head? wtf?

I'm glad I retired from competion, it's become a fucking popularity/ass-kiss corruption fest.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Alliance is going to be out of the game for a while, maybe even permanently. I'm still on good terms with the Alliance crew; told them I was going to be experimenting with new frames and geometry at the F.U. Jam.

I've gotten a few sessions in on this new Quamen so far and I'm really digging it, super light and great angles.
