The movie "The Corporation" has some obvious political implications. Two movies I have yet to see are "An Inconvenient Truth" and "The Hunting of the President".

Hang out with your friends, try and have a good time. If you want a great book look for Judith Viorst's "necessary losses". Hang in there the best thing is time.

Quote from the site: "Might someone young in the faith be watching you and saying to herself, "You know, she’s a strong Christian and loves Jesus. She does yoga and says there's nothing wrong with it. I think I'll take that yoga class being offered down the street." This young follower may not have your discernment. She may be like my mother and I were - weak and unskilled in the Word of God and open to the deceptions of the enemy." (my bold).

How sad to live in fear of this infernal "enemy" lurking behind every corner. But what God allowed this evil being to exist in the first place ?--You may have guessed it, the one that is supposed to be worshipped! So which is more truely terrifying, the Devil, or the God who created and allows the Devil to exist ?

And one's intrest in Yoga is due to "weakness" yet complete and utter submition to Jesus means you are strong ? --Brutal...

You know how after you install, it takes you to a page with some crappy animation and says "If you can see this picture, it worked." Can you see that picture?
Nope don't get that picture at all. I'll try what you suggested Tranq but where can I find an older version?

My 2nd gen. Bizhouse stem for your Suelo stem posted on 2006-07-25 09:12:26

Open to trades,

I have a second generation bizhouse stem (star machined out) in great condition with a black body and a red face plate and wedge. I am looking for a Suelo flatland stem preferably white but I'm open to other colours. Thanks for your time.

Why you ask? I'm considering the switch to a slightly longer offset.

Welcome to the flatliners club Tranq, I was dead when I was born--how strange does that sound?--complications with a slow delivery meant that I suffocated, and obviously I was too young to remember anything. Anyhow, just figured I'd make a couple of comments, 1)- One can have a view regarding the (supposed) afterlife without necessarily being affiliated with any religious group. 2)- Many people have reported near death experiences (or NDE's), some of whom I know closely (So Tranq, just being under for about a minute is no guarantee that you were to have any visions, many are under for much longer and report nothing [not to mention, there is a drug that is released in your brain at death that has the effect of totally erasing your memory so that even if you did experience something, you may be one of the unlucky ones who simply couldn't remember due to the presence of the drug]). There is a book I'm about to read that talks about 'scientific' research aimed at understanding the drug it's called "DMT: The Spirit Molecule" by Rick Strassman MD. You may be interested in it.

Also, I used to stay kind of up-to-date with the IANDS group (International Association for Near Death Studies) and if I recall correctly, I think about 1/3 of people report some kind of deathbed experience. Surely this is a controversial field but there is a whole lot of literature on it out there, some of which may be enlightening so why not look into it before you close off your mind?

Re: any advice to quit drinking? posted on 2006-07-16 07:26:58

In terms of the psychological literature on addiction, your best bet is to simply avoid putting youself in the kinds of situations where you will be tempted (i.e. bars, clubs, places that serve booze).

Alot of people struggle with addictions, some occasionally and others more chronically. If you ask me, you need simply to develope your strength of Will (not an insult); by that I mean, if you really want to have a strong character and have power over yourself, set the exact limit as to how much you will allow yourself to drink (say three drinks), before you even get to the bar, and then don't violate your personal oath to yourself at any cost. That's how you gain control, but you have to be very vigilent about it; that means, do it everytime--no exceptions--and if you forget to do it before hand, don't touch a drink. Best wishes, I know how hard it can be.

Hey Tranq,

I guess the idea of hippies has turned for the worst. Back when I was in high school there was a pretty large 'hippy' subculture, but they were mostly pretty nice and cool, and not overly hypocritical, though perhaps a little conformist to trends (you know dressing kinda hippy). Hearing that hippies were fighting about who was more of a hippy blows my f'n mind. Maybe it's hard for me to think of tards like that as hippies but I guess I can kind of see where you are comming from now. From your description, they don't sound like the kind of people that I could tolerate being arround for too long...I just call them morons or some other derogatory term instead of hippies--but I can see why people would call them that now, if they have sort of co-opted and subverted the original image of what it meant to be a hippy.

Race_Fit, I guess I needed Tranq's interpretation to get what you were trying to get at. Nevertheless,...I just don't through the word "Hate" arround so loosely, to me it's very powerful--like a jihadist might hold towards America, that kind of hate; like wishing poeple dead and dedicated to that brutal vision. Otherwise, i might just think that a certain group sucks because of their behaviours or views. Like I'm not a big fan of wannabee gang-bangers but I don't hate them, I just think that they really suck.
