Mid Bottom Bracket specs????? posted on 2008-02-04 18:58:43
ok, this is for anyone who's involved in bike design or has ever made a bike. what are the specs for the internal diameter and over all length of a mid bottom bracket? also whats the major and minor diameter of the bearings most commonly used? If anyone can help me out and get these specs to within a couple tenths ( +/- 0.0001") that would be much appreciated. thanks.

Are you guys just making this shit up as you go or what??? G-turn??? come on.

Ahahahahaha. thanks dude, you just took the words right outta my mouth.
***clarification***
G-turn: basically you can do this by either carving a nosewheelie quick and tightly, or just a quick turn that will bring the rear end of the bike up. regardless of the ride in, the "G-force" or momentum generated from this quick turn will bring the bike and rider around into a backwards nosewheelie position. from here other tricks can be linked or the rider just drops the back end of the bike into a rollback and ride out.
turbine: any rolling directional change. ie: bw>fw, fw>bw
now a g-turn COULD be thought of as a turbine, because of the nature of the trick.
a turbine on the other hand is NOT a g-turn. thats because a g-turn involves having both feet on the pedals and both hands on the grips. turbines can be done to any trick that can be rolled.
all that being said, just ride your bikes and have fun doing whatever you think would be cool to try. just don't call turbines g-turns in front of anyone who appreciates platforms on their frames. it will just raise eyebrows and cause confusion for yourself.

on another note.... It reallly pisses me off how the bike market is right now. There is so many different frame builders and they are all making the same thing!!! How many different companies are making 18.75 KGB'S?[/quote]
damn skippy dude. thats why i own 3 sabbaths. although the first gen with the platform is a tad heavy for my tastes. still, the dimensions just aren't on any other ride out there. any frame with straight tubes and a simple gusset either has a midget short back end and retardedly steep ht, or just can't handle multi-purpose riding. althought i primarly ride flat, lately trails have been allot of fun and some light street ain't all that bad. bmx is about having fun riding bikes, not constantly fixing or breaking feeble under built toys.
