Suggest a cool bike for a 5 year old posted on 2008-03-11 06:48:42

Just moved next to a BMX friendly skate park. I would love to get rid of the K-Mart bike and get my soon-to-be 5 year old boy a sweet BMX bike for his birthday.

I want something durable and extra light weight. (Junior, professional quality BMX bike)

He’s only 5 and I don’t think he has the hand strength to handle hand-brakes yet. It’s hard to find a decent kike with coaster brakes though. Can I order a pro quality, mini BMX bike and have the bike shop install coaster brakes?

Do you have any recommendations for Brands & Models?

I was checking out the Haro Z-16.
