Seriously.... I thought people breakin shit all the time and me laughing at them would tell them something? and some of these idiots break shit, and buy the same part that broke? or even wonder why the warranty replacement they got broke too..... LOL

I've actually heard through the grape vine that some people are continuing to buy the garbage just because I call it garbage..... LOL, thats fucking hilarious to me..... people are really stupid enough to throw their own hard earned money away because they want to spite me on the internet..... WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

man..... it really doesn't get any dumber than that..... LOL

the past few years of observing flatlands part sector has been like a long ass dark humor comedy movie to me..... LOL, with the shit people put out, thats just flat out, a straight gimmick rip off.... its been nothin but laughs.... AT THE MASSES EXPENSE!!!! LITERALLY AT THEIR EXPENSE! LOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've got a "what stupid shit will someone think of to rip off dumb riders next" mentality about all this if any morons haven't cought on yet.... im still waitin on paper mache frames n parts.... LOL, or even dixie cup pegs, @ only .5 grams!

it sucks that some riders who don't deserve to get burnt, get burnt cause its all they can afford to buy is junk.... but some of them who can't stand losing riding time to broken parts, kept some good stuff just for a rainy season like this, or they just went out and bought a custom cause they know a custom is worth the money if your going through 2 shitty frames a year.... so its not like people weren't prepared for the downfall of flatland parts....

Im honestly starting to think you can tell a riders gullibility level by what they ride.... some of those dudes out there, you could literally sell a paper bike to..... and for $2000 at that.... LOL

so yeah... do the math on global-flat..... theres more than enough broken parts on there to value a small car lot if you added up the value of those parts when they were brand new.... LOL

keep it up masses!

nothings funnier than lemmings walking off a cliff together....

oh man.... I literally almost pissed myself laughing when someone told me they bought parts cause I said they suck and they wanted to try to prove me wrong.... and their shit broke just like I said it would! LOLOLOL

and my thinking on this is... if theres more than 1 of these guys.... theres probly tons of them...

I didn't know I was worth spending that kind of money on to attempt to prove me wrong? awww jeez guys.... makes me blush..

Re: onlive = the future of video games

well, after some delays, and a intese beta, its finally coming with a release date!

http://firingsquad.com/news/newsarticle.asp?searchid=22618

I read a bit of a review from some guy who tested onlive a month or so back.... the guy was saying network latency is the cause of the delays.... onlive needed some cooperation from service providers to cut back on some of the delay... I guess they had to ask service providers to mark the onlive traffic for qos, and that took a while.... but supposedly it cut down the delay enough to get it to market.... from what the guy said, first person shooters didn't play too well cause there was a bit of lag in the aim and movement, but playing a racing game with an xbox 360 controller hooked to the computer negated some of the lag because of the joystick lag.... joysticks have lag going from far 1 direction back to center, and then to another direction, which is a lot different from normal pc play cause all you do is push a different button to change directions, so there is no lag.... kinda why its so unfair for a person to play a first person shooter with a controller against someone with a keyboard and mouse... the person on the controller just isn't going to be able to aim/shoot/move as well as the person on the kb/mouse...

as soon as I play it for myself, I'll post up a review of my own....

seriously though.... with the expansion of the internet comin in the next few years(especially now that cisco put out the crs-3 320tbps service provider router), I really can tell this is going to blow the fuck up real fast, once america gets its broadband upgrade in the next few years..... Theres no way any of the console makers are going to be able to get a new hardware console to the market to compete with it in time.....

with smart phones taking over as laptops, theres going to be a huge demand for a service like that.... any time, any game, anywhere model of business.... console makers can't compete with that....

Re: who's responsibility is it anyway if no one wants to take it?

well.... I think jonu from global is thinkin right....

you can have a medium weight bike, a well balanced bike, thats not necessarily heavy, but isn't going to snap really fast either.... there needs to be balance in the bike just as there does in the rider.... for companies to put out flat gear and throw that out the window, just really shows you how in tune with riding the people selling this crap are.... another reason Im 100% for buying custom stuff from people like tony strickler... a real rider who makes parts for real riders....

heres what jonu had to say:

"i'm a pretty big frame whore who has tried many, many frames over the past 7 years and i can say that in my opinion there is a comfort zone which must be found.

i've tried light frames thinking it would "be easier to do some tricks"...it wasnt! i've ridden heavy, monsters before... still have back pain from those days, but what i've found is, i prefer a frame around 4.5-5.5 lbs i've found. anything lighter is too "uncontrolable for me, anything heavier seems to be too much of a "struggle".

everyone just needs to find that sweet spot without exceeding the strength limits of the bike or the comfort limits of the rider!

i dont ride enough to speak for the integrity of a frames strength to withstand the level difficulty of riding present today, but with all these frames/parts snapping i'm suprised that people would continue to buy some of these "overly light" items."

he's on the right track with what makes a bike a good bike... but the frame whore thing partially contributes to the situation we are in now... pat says the failure rates are just as low as they were years ago, but years ago we didn't have as many frame whores, and posers.... people that buy a frame and don't even bother to ride it long enough to give it a chance to break before buying a new one are contributing to the shit part problem we have... cause people who can't afford to buy a frame before you find out it sucks, end up riding those frames, and breaking them, and then can't afford to buy a new one, and lose tons of riding time waiting on a warranty replacement.... there really is a decent number of flatlanders with a decent chunk of spendin cash that just buy up lots of frames and parts.... the part whores... and I honestly think pats basing a lot of his supposed failure rates on part whores and posers.... people who don't ride the parts long enough to know if they are good or not....

it seems to me the industry is forcfully trying to make every flatlander a part whore.... if you can't afford to be a part whore, the industry is essentially pushing you out the door..... but thats going to be its undoing, cause thats not a long term sustainable business practice..... if pat takese the side of part whores and posers, he's essentially burning a lot of legitimate riders who aren't going to take kindly to being brushed off as second class customers.... they might not say it on the forum or even to his face at a contest, but they feel it and are discussing it via pm's and im's.... and they are showing their disapointment in pat purchase wise.... these are the guys pulling old frames out of retirement cause theres just nothing that fits them at ff, or they are riding custom cause ff doesn't have anything they feel is worthy enough for them to ride.... and even if pat does decide to get good parts in, do you think those people are going to just forget being shit on with out some sort of public appology from pat?

when people called me stupid for talkin down on the parts, I sat down a local rider who kinda questioned what I was saying and I was like fine.... if the shit on ff doesn't suck, prove it! go through all the parts and build a bike that you would honestly enjoy riding and would be worth the money you spend on it in the shopping cart.... and he couldn't do it... huge gaps of stuff missing...

he later ended up having a custom built for himself....

powell ranted to me plenty of times about how everything sucks, and then bitched at me for saying everything sucks on the forum... but is he riding a bike made of parts that all came from ff? fuck NO! he's riding a custom.... None of those douche bags at chenga who bitched at me for talkin down on shady parts that deserve to be talked down on are even riding any of these shady parts..... LOL.... esentially subconsiously agreeing with everything I've said whether they know it or not.... LOL

powell and rybs even ripped on for buying that first gen kgb, they both talked down on that frame to no end, and when I bitched about being ripped off cause it died in a few months.... and pat calls powell to bug him.... powell changes up everything and is like, "oh it was a good frame"... LOL....

and when Im like "well, if the parts don't suck ass like I say they do, why aren't you riding them?"..... and things just get quiet and the topic changes.... LOL

DENIAL AIN'T JUST A RIVER IN EGYPT!

so seriously matt thomas.... who do you think is the responsible for the total suckage of flatland parts lately?

Someones gotta be responsible... this shit didn't just pop out of thin air... and someone has to be behind it.... if you can't see the "if you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" situation goin on with these shitty part companies and pat to keep you forced into buying stuff.... you probly rode the short bus to school....

how does that make you feel, knowing that when asked for an appology for letting posers take control of the sport we were essentially told "I did nothing wrong, I don't owe anyone an appology"?... basically told to "fuck off".... I know a lot of people who didn't like that one bit.... how about you? you can send me a pm if you don't want to discuss publicly cause you don't want pat mad at you....

I'll support dans comp till bmx companies start selling direct to their customers...

fly by night riders.... every scenes had one... share your story

anyone ever got the wrong type of person into flatland?

My friend dan and I got this kid we met at a park into flat.... the legendary poser named matt..... LOL.... dude was all pumped up to see us ride all the time, and wanted to ride flatland really bad...... well... we told him he could get a flat bike at ff, and some how this kid conned his parents into buying him a $2,000 flat bike, even though he had only rode flat 1 time on a kmart bike.... couldn't even do a track stand and had a bike that at the time was more $$ than both of our bikes.... so we were like "cool" at first..... we even brought him to chenga with us once or twice... but that "coolness" quickly wore off....

the dude tried flatland tricks for a whopping 2 sessions, and came to the realization that a $2,000 bike doesn't instantly turn you into a pro.... for what ever reason, he got the impression from some douche bags on the forum, that expensive flat parts make tricks "EASIER"..... and boy was that far from the truth.... from those first 2 sessions on, all the dude ever wanted to do was sit on his bike and not ride, just watch us.... and talk about what parts he should get to make what ever tricks he was "THINKING" about trying easier.... and we both tried to tell him... the only thing thats going to make crap easier is actually riding..... the dude got really offended cause to him it was actually easier to roll a fork glide on his old kmart bike... it started to get really anoying when you would be in the middle of a trick or link and the dude would pedal circles around you asking you if you were going to ride out of the trick yet....

after about 1-2 months of ridingless sessions with us, he started trying to sell us his flatland parts off his bike... and would get super offended when either I or dan suggested he try some tricks, instead of just watching.... I even offered to watch him and give him advice as to what he was doin wrong and how to make the trick happen...over time of 4 months he learned no tricks, and felt like we scammed him into buying a flatland bike, and said fuck flatland..... I think he accused us of scamming him cause he just refused to put any time into actually learning anything, and thats where his frustration came from.... and felt the whole flatland bike thing was a scam.... we tried to tell him the bike doesn't make the rider, but he couldn't accept that.... not sure why.... but he just couldn't....I really think the last straw was when we were at the park in lyndhurst riding, and some lil black kid who couldn't have been more than 8-9yrs old, came up to us and asked to try some tricks on matts bike.... cocky matt was like "flatlands so hard, you'll never be able to learn it"..... so the kid asked me to show him an easy trick.... I showed him the fork glide, which was something even matt couldn't do for more than a parking space.... so the kid goes and tries it, and BAM! first try he rolled a fork glide all the way across the parking lot... LOL!

matt was so pissed off he took the bike away from the kid, and was like, gimme that, I don't want you to crash and scratch my bike.... after that session.... we never heard from him again.... although we did see his bike on ebay.... unfortunately we never saw that lil kid again either, as I wish we would have.... he seemed to pick up on stuff really fast and I think he would have been a good rider had he gotten access to a bike... I mean, he rolled a bw steam roller for a parking space his first time trying flatland...

as quick as he came into flat, and spent $2,000, he was gone just as quickly.... I've talked to a lot of people from out of state and a lot of them have similar fly by night rider stories.... or just plain ol posers that have popped into their scenes for a brief period of time....

In this area, I know of at least 4 fly by night riders who came into flat for a few months and vannished.... some spent more than others on bikes, and some tried to learn tricks more than others....

theres a lot of people that have similar stories...

what is it about flat that you think attracks people like this? is it the poser mentality fitting hand in hand with the forum mentality? I know that matt dude who quit, took up skateboarding immediately after telling us to shove our flat bikes up our asses.... and I don't really know, but I got a feeling he gave that up too....

is it that these people have no friends, and they are sooo desperate for any kind of companionship, they will do or buy what ever to TRY and fit in?

I honestly think a nice chunk of global is poser folk that are pretty much the spitting image of this matt dude.... I've seen so many people come n go on the forums over the years....

where the fuck do these people come from, and why the fuck do they flock to flatland?

well for one, I know a for a fact if it wasn't for my bitching about shady shit goin on with shady parts a number of riders would have gotten stuck getting shit warrantied... I know a couple people who had some issues getting something warrantied, and even suggesting that I was right about shitty companies rippin people off got them a replacement...

you can't tell me thats not something positive....

shit because of my bitching, pat called a local rider mere minutes after I posted about being disapointed his odyssey bars snapped in a very dangerous way.... pat called him just to make sure shit was taken care of....

all this positive publicity of shady parts has created a window of opportunity for people to take advantage of riders.... callin out the shady shit forces them to man up to their mistakes.... whats even shittier is that people even have to go to those lengths to get what they paid for....

g-man, the message sunk in a while ago... people are in public denial... they are just too chicken shit to point the finger where it needs to be pointed on the internet.... unfortunately for pat, his public refusal to fix the issues I had with him, brought out an ugly side of pat for all to see that a lot of riders didn't expect... people saw what happened to me, and are afraid to call pat out on the bullshit cause they think if they do, pat will shade them on any future orders.... which is why even the people that are on my side, refuse to say anything in public.... the quote of my discussions about those issues has to be "even if your a dick, it still doesn't negate your right to a warranty or refund, thats just being shady"

matt, you can argue all you want the stuff I say doesn't do anything positive, but I can point you to a few people that got their shit taken care of because of my bitching... and they wouldn't have gotten it taken care of otherwise...

shame on all of you for not tellin it like it is... if the idiots on global think poser parts are a good way to move the sport, then they truly are retards.... to make flat grow it needs to be affordable to as large an audience of people as possible.... especially in this economy.... flat part prices should be goin down, not up for how long they last... they should be able to make up the difference in sale price with the repeat purchases.... but jackin the prices for garbage like that is just flat out rippin people off anyway you toss the coin...

im not here to start an online argument, or attack you. i have seen you for good long time constantly point out everything you see wrong with flatland whether its the parts and frame manufactures, retailers, people who participate in the online flat community, even your own scene, or ect. ect. ect. ect. ect. ect. ect...... you always point the finger at everyone as being the problem. i have one very simple question for you. what have you done, or currently do, that has a positve impact on flatland? no need for a long winded awnser, keep it short, simple, and to the point.

I believe in a grassroots approach and support the local guy, but in this day and age,, its just not happening!

I make 200$ a day at work(as a machinist). I made pegs for a guy(TimK) and it took 6 hours to make+40.00$ matl.+ shipping.

I took a shit kikin on it,, but loved doing it!

This is where enthusiasm and love of the sport and economics part ways.

I built something that was a bit heavier/ but bombproof,,, and for that reason you couldnt sell it!(which Im not trying to do)

Its all crap,,,, Quamen is being questioned now by regarded riders. That BB design is pretty shabby! 3+ lbs frame was a joke just to stay competetive!

Quamen has the name as "the Mercedes" of flat,,,, they could have set the standard and put out a well built frame, but decided to go the poser route and just sell to teens and not riders!!

JOIN THE REVOLUTION

This is a great site, there is a few things I would like to see change:

1. a simple way to load up pics!,, Lots of guys come here but dont know how to post pics here( me being one of them) so maybe a simple section with a how to, on this subject.

2. Get more riders posting here! I know thats a tough one. You have to attract riders here! I'm shocked that American rider's dont support a local site, so much for American pride

3. Cover or acknowledge big events or any events happening in BMX,,,,, I dont care if its racing, street, park,,, it doesn't matter,, just post up a blurb about it,,, it just has to be acknowledged.

4. More,,,,, Nick riding layouts or vids,, I really enjoyed seeing the owner, man up and tackle that rail and I loved the skatepark pics.

Basically keep it fresh Nick , I know its a lot of work, but its gonna be worth it!!

Oh ya, I ride flat so try to keep the flat guy's contributing, like Bryan Huffman (awesome rider) and Lachlen,,,, great vids,,,,, more of that

JOIN THE REVOLUTION

who's responsibility is it anyway if no one wants to take it?

who's responsibility do you think it is for shit parts being passed off as "suitable for flatland" or even "pro quality" as flatland fuel states... I mean, someone has to man up to intentionally ripping off the flaltand community.... the riders know, the companies know, and the retailers know the parts being passed off as flatland suitable are far from it.... someone has to man up to fucking the flatlanders....

and don't tell me its the fucking riders, cause the selection of parts has been trimmed down to where almost all you can get is phony fake ass parts... a rider has to ride... if all thats available in geometry that fits you is shit, you gotta buy shit.... I've discussed this with riders as to why they keep buying the shit.... their excuse is simple.... its all thats available... a rider once told me "beggers can't be choosers".... and man did that sink in....

is it the bmx companies knowing full well their product can't handle real flatland, but sell it as a "light weight" gimmick part anyway????

I see similar discussion on another forum, and a lot of people seem to be in agreeance that the light weight thing is a fucking scam n half....

but the real question is, who is responsible? its pretty open that people are pretty fucking sick of it, but now the real million dollar question is who do the riders hold accountable for this mess?

Is it the people who sell these parts to the end users.... the retailers.... I mean, they are the ones directly selling you the parts, and their web sites advertise that these parts are suitable for "pro flatland" but really can't hold up to begginer tricks.....

So who do you think is the bad guy?

the bmx companies I think hold just as much responsibility as the retailers.... but I also look down on the retailer, because they should know what they are selling their customers.... I equate the selling of bunk flatland parts the person knows can't hold up to, the same as a drug dealer pedalling phony acid knowing it wont work, but sells it anyway.... to me, its the same shit, just a different pile of it...

I think both are in the wrong and are in cahoots with one another..... but the question at hand is who is really responsible for this mess? the companies making the parts, or the ones trying to sell/push them on you as suitable? both benefit from the flatlanders loss.... but who is really responsible?

This is stuff that needs to be seriously discussed.... because as I've stated in the past..... its only a matter of time when someone gets seriously fucked up because of these shit parts.... theres pages and pages of dangerously broken flatland parts on the internet.... when someone ends up impaled, or crippled, its gonna turn into a full on shit fest if people don't decide who's at fault for these shit parts being sold to riders.... cause you wanna talk about something thats going to cause a major rift in the flatland community, its an argument over who's at fault for "insert random rider here" getting impaled".... I could totally see ff closing up shop over night if one of these parts causes someone serious injuries, and the family members want to hold someone resonsible for selling bogus parts that were the fault of the incident cause they shouldn't have been sold or advertised as flatland suitable...

I don't really want to read anymore bullshit about flatland brotherhood from phony ass riders.... if you really gave a shit about your fellow flatlander, you wouldn't be on the internet promoting these shit parts as a good idea for riders to use... its going to get someone seriously hurt.... and shame on the pro riders promoting this garbage..... and who says you can't sell out in flatland? I guess everyman has its price..... but flatlanders are so broke, they'll sell out for nickles n dimes... fucking hobo pocket change....

the way I look at it... friends don't let friends ride junk....

or as I've heard a few riders say.... friends don't let friends ride khe.... LOL, but it applies to a lot more than just khe....

these are on flatlandfuel for $99. I rode them twice. I didnt like how they made the offset on the fork feel. I dont feel like buying a new fork so I went back to my old ones. They came with a small smear on the pait but its only on the clearcoat. Bars only, no grips. $85(OBO) + shipping. I would consider trade for Quamen Hero bars

---------------------

Suelo v2 170mm bars

The bars are 540mm wide (21.5") and 170mm or 190mm tall (6.7" or 7.5"). Weight is an outstanding 540g (1.18 lb).

These are brand spanking new. Never ridden or installed. Theyre on FF for 29.99. They dont have white so Ill stay at 29.99(obo)+shipping

----------------------------------------

KHE construct Aluminium Sealed Bearings (698g)

Got these with a complete, Never used them. The quality is nice, and the pins are replacable and easy to get from pretty much any vendor.

I couldnt find msrp for them but similar pedals are $50-60. Ill let these go for $45 + shipping.

-------------------------------------------

KHE Ti 175mm Crankarms

Long story short, one arm was barely used, the other is brand new. Theyre both drive side arms. 48 spline. These are pretty awesome and I pretty much dont want to get rid of them. But I also have no use for them at the moment. On FF these were an $400 option on the KHE millitant pro. $350+shipping
