We used to dress up in silly costumes and ride years ago...

It was called a uniform, and that thing on you used to wear on your head was called a helmet, usually advertising some company who was about sales and didn't give a crap about BMX. Not to rain on the parade, but costumes are for Halloween and the Circus. I'm all for the "fun" factor, but for the public to take this flatland stuff seriously, this would seem like a step backwards.

Unless you have a bad-ass Sasquatch suit. Now your talking! NO

NOTE CHANGES JAM DATE: JUNE 2, Rain date JUNE 9. Between the organizers of Bike Week and ASC trying to get the City of T.O to accommodate the Jam and for the jump box for the street riders. We are just doing the prep/logistics around not using the helmet. OSD.....HA!......oooh that's a challenge with all that faux fur...see costume is good no helmet big enough for get up. In truth I really didn't care what you all wear as long as the biggest wearable is confidence, self worth/respect between you, your environment and with others along with keeping laughter/fun. I know Riders possess these qualities. Well you all can do a Chase Gouin and show up in your slim fit boxers (if that's functional for all too)....hummm? If the possibility was open, I would want a full on Legal JAM at the TD due to the surface and layout..I have thought about raising this issue with them but, knowing it would open a can of worms and not just on a liability stand point. The powers that govern TD(Bankers/investors need one say more, cool for doing the Friends of the Environment Program...BUT) choose not to fully acknowledge these ideals and of Bauhaus that being Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, who is the architect of TD. I'm sure he would not be stoked and rolling in his grave, that riders are banned to ride on the "implied freedom" of open space. The urban city scape(this includes the public, the city, and corporations ) and its developers are behind in areas of integrating form follows function when it addresses the "Urban Rider", going against "being in the green". Try not to place this within the content of the Jam or demo at the TO City Hall. My family back ground is architecture and arts, even ASC advocate/build parks, in addition happen to be a TD Bank client. I'm sure many of you are TD clients and have trust funds, or may even consider becoming share holders. Many close issues to the heart and being a Rider, just my personalisms...keep some well maybe whole lotta salt beside you when I'm around.

Leave TD be, if something is organized there and afterwards it goes back to being "unlawful" to ride it, then theyre just going to be on the lookout even moreso. Christie Pitts is an awesome spot to ride in the summer and it just as accessable as TD (High Park Subway Station). Costume or no costume, I'm just there to ride, the shiney green bike does all my talking.

1. Dates stand as listed: Demo May 28th, Jam: June 2, rain date June 9th. 2. DEMO: if any thing let me know who can attend. 3. JAM: Toronto City Hall, Nathan Phillips Square, a designated section in the front face will be placed. 4. ASC paper work is in, now the Bike Week organizers have some ammo, stating a case for a Jam.There are approvals that need to be passed. 5. NO COSTUMES, NO TD BANK, NO THROW DOWN GAME DURING THE DEMO OR JAM 6. Stay tuned for this event's Confirmations. The "Throw Down Challenge", DONE: You all challenged me and won : YOUR SELF WORTH....HA!(LOL, if you haven't figured that out yet)....Neela

The City of Toronto DID NOT approve the JAM as requested for June dates even though the liability was approved. They have some strict regulations, this ASC cannot control. The freedom to ride is limiting. However the Demo for May 28th is approved, the Bike WeeK Organizers will let me know more details about the set up soon...long process! We wanted that riders and the Flatland community have a large concrete space to just ride and enjoy outdoors. I spoke to the City of Mississauga 2-1/2 weeks ago, and are cool about accommodating space but they want the date so preparations can be made....Neela We posted this on Global Flatland: Once the HamJam is confirmed, ( ChrisP trying to get a hold of you), ASC will hold The Civic Jam again, but not for late Sept as held last year due to weather. Please Ontario Flatlanders let ASC know what dates are best suited, so not to conflict with Flatland events especially the HamJam. A date is not set for this reason, however our city will need notification by next week for securing the space. We would have told them this week, but..... Thanks Action Sports Coalition

"DEMO" @ NATHAN PHILLIPS SQUARE 11:30 AM - 3: 30 PM MONDAY, MAY 28TH,2007 This is as good as it gets for this year to ride at the Toronto City Hall, without being kicked out. Media coverage would have been early morning, but it was expressed in the post no desire for media, so be it, set up for riding only. If you are not working or are free, then come and ride, enjoy the concrete. neela@asc-group.org
