No offense but isnt that kinda selfish to wanna keep it underground to impress people? i know thats probally not really the point your trying to make and i hope your kidding because if that were true, that means that you wouldnt want to share flatland with other people

Maybe he's just taking advantage of it? :-) But Expanding the sport is still important, since we're not riding to impress people. It will also help get more people to ride.

I really don't mind if it stays underground or goes mainstream as long as people stop asking if i know or do tricks like tony hawk or i really hate it when i do a trick a lot harder then a wheelie and they always ask about the wheelie. The only thing i would like is if the general public would get a slight idea at what we are doing. we need more propel drink commercials and mountain dew commercials. it is the only dose of flatland for the mainstream.

I don't think kids care to see the hardest tricks you can do all the time, they just want to see someone do something they know and do it well to be impressed by it. Besides that it all kinda looks similar to them a bit.. they haven't spent time learning and deceferring(sp?) what the difference between tricks really is. I can't fully appreciate a range of classical composer's works, but I can listen to the warmth behind their instruments and enjoy it, it's still unfamiliar though.

It's up to Joe Media and TV to decide the fate of how the non-riding public will view flatland... Imagine watching countless documentaries, advertising, and "reality shows" about flatland and it's lifestyle. My take as a Mass Comm student... :-D

Does not the flatland community control it's own destiny? Was it the media outlets in Japan and Europe who propelled flatland to it's current hieghts? ![]()

some people talk about how if it became mainstream the tricks they would do wouldn't blow peoples minds but if it ever did go mainstream with all the riders it would create. It would push people to do tricks that never were considered possible. the tricks would evolve and become even more outrageous. we would constantily push our skills and tricks to the next level.
