ive been tryingthat, but they wont stay. i ordered a pair of 0 sweep sarvet bars in 7.3, so that might help a little more for leaning on my leg.

Keswick Jam 2: should i hold another? posted on 2006-06-25 19:09:45

the turnout was GREAT last year, with 20-ish poeple arriving. burgers, dawgs, flatland, and sweltering hot days with no shade. woot!

anyway, if i should hold it again, ide like a few suggestions for the date. itl be at the same place as it was last year, same dogs and burgers, and if i do decide to hold it again i will have a sponsor for it (a local bike shop will help supply cables, brake pards, tubes, stickers, etc to whomever needs any for cheap).

anyway, the turnout was great and it was considered one of the best jams in that year. lemme know your thoughts!

Switching hands in steams? posted on 2006-06-25 19:02:43

ive tried every way i can think of. i have great balance in regular steams, but i just trying to switch my hand on the bar to the other grip so i can spin them on the outside.

problem is, whenever i take my hand off the bar, the tire just flips forward. i am riding them right hand on seat, left hand on left grip, right foot on right peg. im trying to switch my hand to the left grip from the right.

anyway, ive tried doing it slowly, while spinning, while going straight, ith angled toes, minimal and 0 offset, bars around the other way....the wheel always spins on me before i can grab the other grip. what am i doing wrong?!?!?!

i FIIIIIIINALLY landed a hiker, first one ever. ordered from Sarvet bars in 0 sweep as well, needed a lower crossbar for scuffing spastic steams over the bars.

hangfives will be dialed by the end of the week, and side squeeks are slowly turning into karl kruisers.

nah back then it was fair competition with bmxtrix.com. and to tell the truth, i like the forums better back then. where i didnt have to side-scroll to see pictures, or deal with a big box of ads in the first post of every page.

i bought the Sinus complete from FF, and the griptape on the front pegs has worn off already, after about 5 sessions. maybe the grip tape was shitty to begin with, so im trying some skateboard stuff tonight. if it does the same, ill definitly get soime of the industrial stuff.
That's crazy. I would definitely contact WTP and ask them if other people have noticed the grip on the pegs deteriorating that quickly. That's horrible considering how much that bike costs.
its just grip tape, you can get if for free at skateshops if you are nice about it, thats what i do anyways, its gonna ware down

and dont forget to rotate your pegs!
of course it will wear down, i know that. but completely smooth after 4 sessions? thats just crazy.

Grips.  Not that I've tried lots & lots & lots, but lately I've switched between 3 pairs.  In winter it's not as bad, but come summer, when my hands get really sweaty, I gotta switch.  I'm using the Ares grips right now, they're not too bad so far.  These meathooks of mine can be quite picky...

I also swap out between the 3 bars I have every so often, though I don't think I'll go back to my 2-pieces anytime soon now.
try the Big Cheese drips, or the bizhouse gym grips. my hands sweat like mad too, and those grips seemed to work best.

Re: parts list posted on 2006-06-22 18:41:10

seats every few months, grips every 2 months or so, and tires change fairly often. now that i have a lot of money sitting around, ill be switching frames alot.

bars/stem: minimal or zero? advice wanted posted on 2006-06-22 18:37:28

ive recently been thinking of switching to mike S bars to try out total 0 offset. it seems nice because the stem offset really seems to affect a few of the tricks i like to do.

does the balance point change much? what about the mike S bars? decent quality and durability? or how about the new (ares i think) 10mm stem and bar combination?

i do alot of rolling tricks like hikers and all variations of steams, hangfives and karlkruisers, as well as a good amount of scuffing tricks.

what do you guys suggest? i may pick up a set of mike S bars sometime soon.
