i would definitely got get some x-rays of that area--there could be some really dangerous things that go on at the femur head. if they don't find anything, i'd recommend finding a chiropractor to knock that hip back in place--if it's out of place it could be pinching on the surrounding nerves.
I had a quick check, and the doc reckons it could be 'Bursitis'.... you know what causes it?
........
The bursa is what cushions the tendon and thereby helps prevent friction between the tendon and the bone. Unfortunately, constant rubbing of the tendon over the bone with high amounts of repetitive arm, shoulder, hip, knee and ankle motion can lead to enough friction of the bursa itself to cause the inflammation and irritation of the bursa called bursitis.

Sounds like flatland is to blame, I might be off my bike for a week or so-(Fark!) and see if it comes good.. If it doesn't, I might have to see a chiropractor.... :x

Crazy hip pain posted on 2006-11-04 19:04:29

I ride flat for a few years now, and just lately I have been getting this excruciating pain around my left femur/balljoint...It feels like a chronically pinched nerve or something.. It gets so bad sometimes that any sudden movement will want to put me on the ground and I will have to slowly sit down on one ass cheek.... Sucks major balls.
The thing is.... I only get it in my left leg/hip, (I'm mainly a left foot peg rider)... looks like I have to put this right leg of mine to better use.... :-P

Does anyone get any repetitive strain injury as well?, how do I get rid of it?

The dudes at Soulcycle rock... (Bas and Koen)

The service and quick delivery is definately on par with Dan's and Flatlandfuel.

It's really unfair how (some) people are so ready to label them as as ripoffs. The truth is, if you really have a look is that alot of euro based mobs like KGB and KHE are far cheaper from Soulcycle, but I'm Australian,... so the delivery from FF to somewhere in the U.S.A will be heaps cheaper in shipping than what I am used to paying from FF.

If you don't believe me, check the prices of the KHE R.I.P.............

19" Aqueduct or KHE RIP? posted on 2006-10-26 21:29:46

What would you choose?

I like the slightly mellower head angles and I am 6'1"...
I have read (I think Byke mentioned this..) that, the RIP and a 19"TT Psychonnecta have near identical wheelbases. I loved my Psychonnecta, but it had a very short lifespan.

Or should I just shell out bigger bucks and get a custom Quamen like Tranquilized's G6..(?) (19.1TT, 73.5HA)

I really want to run a macneil post/seat, and I understand that Bram rides his RIP with a macneil, but it looks to not even go past the top tube! :-o.... I think that could be very detrimental to the frame's life.

What would you get... price-wise and reliabilty factors considering a 6'1" height?

Thanx heaps for constructive input dudes!

etnies has a bmx line
Etnies are an awful company. Look how they treat riders at their parks. If the bmx shoe market decreased in value to them then they would drop their team - their foundations are oin skateboarding. Lotek is a good company for us because their foundations are in bmx. Saying that, I wouldn't buy their shoes at the moment because they are too bulky.
You have no idea what you're talking about.
Word Oui,

Etnies do heaps for BMX!
I personally am on my 5th pair of Etnies callicuts. They kick ass. They really are that good Cartman~!!!!
But I don't want to take away from Terry's thread. The fact is... I am on a good thing when it comes to shoes, and I will stick with it... as long as Etnies keep making size 11.5!!!

:-D

u cracked a frame in 7 months and your paying for a new one???fuck that, if a frame dont last at least a year im pissed and getting a quamen.i dont even think mike s rides the ti one anymore.i wonder how many he went through.
Yeah, it does sound ridiculous when you put it like that, however dude......
I still have my old solo, which I will send to him to be be fixed (free) after I receive my new one, so I will end up with 2 frames that should last for a good amount of time. I just like the idea of that. :-)
what did your old solo setup weigh? about at least? had to be light as fuck... and can you say what a "good" deal is?
My old setup weighed in at around 8kg... about 17.5lbs (stupidly light....I know) but I have a few heavier (stronger) bits I plan to put on this new frame.

Re: A HUGE thankyou to Dragonfly. posted on 2006-10-17 16:42:38

If I remember correctly, the solo lasted for around 7months before I noticed the headtube gusset coming away from the headtube. The frame would still be rideable, I just don't want to completely destroy it.

Here's a pic not long after I noticed it cracking. :-P
